Quinnipiac Poll of Ohio Senate: Fisher 42% Portman 40%

Go Fisher! If Fisher wins this would be a Democratic pick-up, perhaps the best chance in the nation this year (along with possibly North Carolina). Fisher has to tie Portman to George W. Bush, for whom, I beleive, he was budget director. The president has a 45% approval rating in Ohio.

Democratic Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher and Republican Rob Portman remain in a tight race for Ohio's U.S. Senate seat with 42 percent for Fisher and 40 percent for Portman, with 17 percent undecided, statistically unchanged from April and March surveys, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

1. Fisher looks like he has a good shot. It will be close but being ahead is always better then

being behind. Don't forget, the Rethug made some weird campaign ad with Fisher in it and got a lot of bad press. Portman has stumbled a bit out of the gate.

2. Fisher needs to pound the hell out of Portman who was indeed, Bush's budget director.

Fisher needs to dial back on the charm and qips, and be droll and factual when pounding Portman.
