Diebel has yet to concede to Adams
Florida Republican Karen Diebel is remaining silent on whether she’ll concede to state Rep. Sandy Adams after falling short in a cliffhanger 24th District primary by less than 600 votes.

Former Ruth’s Chris Steak House CEO Craig Miller, who took third place in the five-way contest, endorsed Adams on Wednesday afternoon. But Diebel, a former Winter Park City commissioner, had yet to call Adams to offer her support or to acknowledge defeat, according to an Adams insider.

The Diebel campaign did not respond to several requests for comment. Her campaign website remained unchanged Wednesday, with a photo of her alongside former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who had taped a closing radio ad for her campaign, prominently featured on the welcome page.

Adams narrowly edged out Diebel and Miller after a hard-fought race that was defined in its final by a series of scalding attacks between Adams’s foes. While Adams ran an under-the-radar, tightly budgeted effort, Diebel slammed Miller as soft on immigration and Miller launched a controversial mailer that cast Diebel as mentally unfit to serve in Congress.
