Obama featured in Georgia man's obituary
Posted: September 13th, 2010 03:00 PM ET

President Obama is featured in a Georgia man’s obituary.
(CNN) – If you are a friend of Don Unsworth, a Georgia businessman who recently passed away, don't send flowers to the family. Just vote against President Obama in 2012.

That was the message conveyed in Unsworth's obituary, according to CNN affiliate station WIS.

"In lieu of flowers the family respectfully asks that donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, or to the campaign of anybody who is running against President Barack Obama in 2012," said the obituary, which ran in the local newspaper.

Donna Barnes said Unsworth was "not really a big Obama fan," taking issue with the stimulus bill and high unemployment rate.

"We just felt like it was the best tribute we could give to him," said Barnes.

A similar plea appeared in the obituary pages of the Las Vegas Review-Journal in July, only the family of Charlotte McCourt asked readers not to vote for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

1. " taking issue with stimulus bill and high unemployment rate"
This shows you how far the hate and stupidity goes... both of these things were inherited by the Obama administration.

2. And too bad for him, one less Republican vote in 2012
It must suck for a party whose best age demographic group is white folks over 60.

4. That's some stupid shit.
I know when I go, I would like to be defined by MY hatred for a politician. Amazing.

The sooner this attitude is buried with folks like Don, the sooner this country will FINALLY progress.

5. If I could afford it
I'd bury this asshole's family in so many flowers it would look like Al Capone's funeral

Along with a card telling them every flower represents a contribution I made to the Obama campaign in their name.

How sad that someone would want to be remembered as being THAT full of hatred for her or his fellow man. Did the deceased contribute absolutely nothing in his life that should be honored? Nothing at all? Seriously? Just vote against someone he hates?

What a truly, truly sad lot the republicans are.

8. Obviously, I disagree with the sentiment...but the idea makes me laugh
I could see my kids doing that..."Send money to whoever is running against Steve King or Michelle Bachmann. Alternatively, make a donation in Dad's name to the campaign to re-elect Al Franken."

Getting those old Republicans one by one. Were they pissed off about the high unemployment rate under Bush or is it just because a Democrat is in charge that they care?

25. As I recall, there was a similar situation with an elderly woman during the Bush era
She called him a hilarious name- wish I could remember what it was.

It was the toast of DU for months (and drew derision from FR).

The more things change, the more they stay the same....
