F-ing beautiful.

A ham sandwich would be better than 5 points behind in this economic climate. At a cost of $2.95 (for a good one).

California, you're making me proud of you again.

13. I really believe that much of the MSM media drumbeat that the Ds are behind in the polls
is an effort by the media to scare Ds into buying ad space to compete with the Rs, who are spending millions of dollars just to win primaries. The Brown/Whitman race is a case in point - the media out here has been ragging on Brown for months to get serious about his campaign. Translation: start spending $ on TV ads in the most-expensive media markets in the country!

Brown has wisely ignored all that and has held his fire until this past week. In the meanwhile, Whitless has been spending like there's no tomorrow...which is true in her case, at least in the fact that she will never be governor of this state.

14. Look at Scott in Florida
That lightbulb spent $50 Million to get on the ballot as a Repuke. And now he's down in the polls to Alex Sink. Another loser (Scott) who overspent money to try and buy an election

22. That's the smart way to play it.
When a campaign has limited resources you have to save it up to the end. A state House race I managed was a great example of this. we're in a blood red zone here and so funds were a bit tough to come by. We saved it all though and at the end we had billboards, TV, radio and print ads. It was a great blitz. We still lost as I figured we would but we played it smart.

8. Nutmeg for all of her money
can't seem to find anything positive to say.

I heard an intersting snippet on a talk radio program the other day. People keep asking why with all of her money does she even want to be Governor of CA? Answer: She wants to run for President. CA is just her jumping off point.

So there you go. She's trying to buy the governorship so she can run for President. What arrogance! I don't think she really cares about California other than what being governor can do for her down the road.

26. What a stupid state to try and buy as a stepping stone
It's the biggest, so the hardest to buy with sheer financial force. It's also one of the most screwed up, so the residents will hate you if you aren't a miracle worker. Which brings us back to it being the biggest - what's the use of governing California if it won't vote for you for president?

Well, I guess that's the hubris of big money combined with an eBay mentality.

10. just got a message from Jerry Brown ...
Dear xxxx,

Earlier today, with a $25 contribution coming from Paul Matlin in Tarzana, CA, we passed our $119,000 seven-day goal to help match the unprecedented, $119 million that Whitman has poured into her own race. Jerry has called a number of other grassroots donors throughout the past week and thanked them for their support. He only wishes he could personally thank each and every one of you for your amazing help to our campaign.

Last week Jerry posed a real challenge to our grassroots community, and you stood up in full force. It won't be the last obstacle we'll need to overcome, but it means a lot. So, thank you.

********

You are very welcome GOVERNOR BROWN!!! :D :D :D

I'll give Meg credit, her wallet has been good for the media companies' bottom lines in California.

Spend plenty more Meg while you are on the way out. Pssst... There are some slot machines near the exit that look promising.

She rode the expanding techno-bubble to glory.

Such is what passes for leadership these days.
