if the pentagon purchased one less tank, armored vehicle, ship, plane

one day less bullets, bombs, drone, etc.

there would be enough money to give seniors a cost of living raise.

the pentagon will still be able to do all the killing they want.

and that would show that the pentagon brass do care about the seniors.

everyone in the whole world knows this.

2. I don't know the real figures - don't think anybody does - but I would
guess that 95% of military weapons are retired without ever being used in combat, and well over 50% are never used at all. Weapons that we retire as 'obsolete' are still superior to 90% of the weapons any potential enemy of ours can muster. We sell millions of older model rifles to Korea when we replace them with a new generation, and forty years later they try to sell them back to us, untouched.

Pure insanity, which benefits nobody but the weapons makers. Today's MIC makes the "Arms of Krupp" look like amateurs - all they did was start a world war.

3. And used at least one less consultant from each section.
And not pay any consultants that were previously in the military more than their exit base pay.

4. There's already money for a COLA. What there isn't is inflation
COLAs are based on the inflation rate, which has been flat for a while.

13. Prices on what have gone up?
Now, I have very simple grocery needs. I buy milk, eggs, lentils, and rice pretty much. Eggs, lentils, and rice haven't budged; milk is slightly cheaper.

11. Right on. The deficit commission was looking at defense spending cuts.
I know, I know. We're not supposed to talk about that as anything but a conspiracy to make grandma homeless.
