Poll question: Daily Three Post Limit?
There is not a whole lot of real cognitive thought in many of the posts in GDP. A lot of bitching, a little complaining, and the rest is just pissing into a wind tunnel.

Three OPs per day in GDP?

It seemed to do the trick for diversity of opinion during the Primaries...

What do Ya'll think?

4. Hell NO!!
Censorship of ANY kind is unacceptable. There is plenty to bitch, complain and piss in the wind tunnel about; all of which is good to vent here.

The biggest windbags would just open up additional DU id's to launch topics, and then they would return to the standard ID to operate the discussion.

8. You know that is something I would never even consider doing..
I guess there are people out there who would stoop to such a thing...

Three well thought out and supported posts per 24 hr period should be more than sufficient to "vent" on any given day.

What is the point of adopting different personas except to "win" a debate with ones self.

12. No thanks it sucked during the primaries
It silenced people that post relevant info. kpete comes to mind, he posts multiple news stories every day and limiting him and others to three cause you cant be bothered to scroll down is just asinine.

If there were a relevant place to go see Latest Braking News or relevant General Discussion, then such places would exist. In the tubes.

15. So now I have to go to other sites?
Just cause you don't like to scroll? No thanks been here for 6+ years and never had a problem scrolling through posts, I keep coming back mostly cause its a one stop shop for relevant info.

The three post rule during the primaries shut down way too many relevant posters and allowed the noise to info ratio to go way up IMHO. It had exactly the opposite of the desired effect.

If you got a problem with someones spam put em on ignore, thats what its there for. Hide a thread works wonders too if you are so inclined.

21. I voted yes.
Too many barrages of the same material and arguments over and over in here, especially on days with big breaking stories and controversies.

Besides, there are a select a few out there who seem think they personally "own" this forum.

Setting a limit on their ability to dominate through bombardment-posting makes a lot of sense.

22. What we need is a way to automatically hide threads by keyword.
For example, you'd be able to put in "bow" and it'd filter out all the threads with "bow" in the OP's title.

There are posters in GD who mine the most preposterous "news" sources imaginable and endlessly repost them there.

Not so much here.

sometimes I go for stretches when I post maybe ten per day. I don't want to be forced to stop because of a perception that DU is overrun by loudmouths. I love DU, and it's awesome the way it is.
