Boehner endorses Ohio GOP House candidate criticized for Nazi reenactment

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/10/30/AR2010103004513.html

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Saturday met privately with Republicans in a northern Ohio county and endorsed Rich Iott, the GOP House candidate who has drawn criticism for having participated in a Nazi reenactment group devoted to a Waffen SS division.

Boehner met behind closed doors with GOP volunteers in Lucas County to thank them for their work, the Toledo Blade reported. He entered the GOP headquarters in downtown Toledo via a rear loading dock to avoid protesters, according to a report on the Blade's Web site.

Iott, a businessman making his first run for office, is trying to unseat Democrat Marcy Kaptur in Ohio's heavily Democratic 9th District. His participation in the re-enactment group - beginning in 2003 and continuing for several years - has drawn criticism from a Holocaust survivors group as well as from House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.).

1. And then there's Eric Cantor
But I guess as long as it means more power for the Republicans, he really doesn't have a problem serving with a man who thinks that the 5th SS Division were honorable soldiers defending their way of life.
