I'm going to be laughing my arse off when the Dems do better than "the experts" believe |
|
tomorrow night. The Dems hold the house. Lose only 4 Senate seats (also win in Alaska) and win the big governorships in Florida, California and Ohio.
I can't wait to see the pundits and pollsters try and explain how they actually saw this coming when they have done nothing but predict doom and gloom for the Dems for a year.

I am so very, very concerned about where we will be heading if the repukes do manage to gain control in any meaningful way. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/brent-budowsky/tea-parties-and-totalitar_b_777098.html

I had more hope last week, but though I can list reasons that the polls might have structural design flaws - it seems hard to believe that all the polls in all the states that are toss ups really are wrong.
The ONLY thing that seems hopeful is that some are now saying the overall turnout will be unusually high. Given that the polls have really predicted low turn out for us and high for them, it would seem that if the turnout is REALLY high, they will come in as modelled and we will come in above where we were modelled - the race looking more like the RV, not their LV.

3. I do believe this is why the Pubbies are burning that candle at both ends... |
|
Saying how they are going to clean up, Dems have no chance, etc. Then out of the other side of their mouths they are framing this stolen election deal.
I fully expect each and every Pubbie that loses his seat to pull a Coleman on their respective Franken;) Oh yes, I do believe! It will make them look all the more like the whiney asshats they are.

8. No enthusiasm gap over here! |

The media darlings are the tea-bagger trash. Mike Papantonio rightfully calls them out. Bitter, pot-bellied, sagging bigots who've got theirs and will be damned if anyone else gets any.
My friends and everyone else I know have already voted. We are very active and want to keep on pushing for change. The kkkorporatists can't keep killing the world!

I guess you rather hold out for the unexpected good news in spite of all the odds.
For me I know what to expect tomorrow. It is time to learn and move on.
One problem with being overly optimistic or living in denial is that when the results roll in then you have a hard time accepting them. Blaming it on the media, pollsters, and...

This is all part of the cycle of politics. Been around a long time and have seen a lot of highs and lows. Regardless of what happens tomorrow, we learn and we move on.

At least a weeks worth of ridiculously annoying, no holds barred gloating. I've invested a good deal of credibility on the election on another discussion board. I realize that there is a pretty good chance that I will be eating some crow, but that's ok because I still have 1/2 a bottle of chili sauce and a deep fryer and the risk is worth it if I get the chance to teabag the teabaggers continuously until the next election.

18. I keep remembering PAs 12th district |
|
In the special election for Murtha's seat this May, Critz and Burns were supposedly tied going into the election. When Critz won handily by almost 10%, all the pundits said that voters were "remembering the Murtha legacy." Really the district is just more Dem than they'd like to admit.

26. Looks like it was the lowest aspect of worst case scenario... |
|
We kept the Senate, but the House was lost badly. I mean, we haven't seen numbers like this since FDR was in office and his Democrats got their butt kicked.
So the media was right. They expected 50-70 seats lost and that's about where they'll fall.
