1. it does at least make me happy we'll have had two years
I'm not being sarcastic or trying to be a downer about what's coming down the pike--I really am glad we'll have had these two years to get some really important stuff done before the gridlock of the next two years.

5. I know what you mean. This 2 years of incredible progress may be all that we get
...thanks to the GOP living up to their word, which is they want to destroy President Obama and they want to stop government in its tracks and roll back every social good since the New Deal.

3. That's how it works.
When folks realize that this may affect them afterall,
they stop being so snarky.

Some folks will continue to piss all over the place however, because they don't give a shit
about anyone.....and so, they don't care how it affects others....
as long as they feel they ain't gonna get any less, no matter who's
doing whatever.

Instead, we get what we get.

Well, Goddess bless Rachel Maddow. She's a peach.

6. Watching that, I want to cry, actually.

Because of all the people who consistently slam him, saying he's ineffective and hasn't done anything.

No, ineffective is coming, and will be with us for at least the next two years. Maybe longer, if the lying, well-financed and unloyal opposition is really effective at obstructionism and the economy doesn't improve.

It's almost like no one gave him a chance or was paying attention. And his ratings started going down the minute the media gave the Tea Party a platform. That saddens me. It really does.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with the Democratic party. We don't deserve him, frankly. :banghead:

7. well, the next two years will suck, but maybe clips like this will help us win in 2012
Democratic House representatives will be able to compare and contrast the years of all-Democratic leadership with the gridlock of 2011-2012.

9. I hope you're right. It's a huge gamble, but could pay off big.
Older voters I know agree with Rachel; they prefer divided government. Maybe they'll see the foaming at the mouth and screeching that's sure to come from the House, and be turned off.

8. Me too
When we look back 10 or 20 years from now, these two years will be regarded as a high water mark in moving a progressive agenda forward. No, we didn't get everything we wanted, but we got more than we could have expected, especially given the intransigence of the republicons.

10. It was great. Too bad, she waited until the day before the election
to recognize his many and significant accomplishments.
