My 20 hour view of why we lost so big. |
|
We got spanked. I lay that largely at the feet of the President. Not because of bad policy decisions but because of bad policy prioirtization and bad messaging. The GOP has always been better at messaging but I think the President's team has been very slow to respond.
Hindsight is easy, Fixing it is a hell of a lot tougher.

2. Pretty easy to control the messaging the last 2 decades, since GOPs fascist pals bought control |
|
of broadcast media in the 80s and 90s.

4. SO what you mean is that Democrats are too stupid to understand ... |
|
what's going on, unless the President puts together some 3 word slogans???
WE lost because WE didn't vote in sufficient numbers. While WE bickered, we let the GOP win Governor races that have NOTHING to do with the natrional elections, thus ... letting the GOP redistrict many states to lock in their gains. We were too busy fighting each other about the priorities.
We did this in 2000 ... and we got 2 wars and 2 terrible supreme court justices ... and we did not learn.
WE .. have the attention span of a fruit fly.
When the GOP wants to get a mile and they only get an inch, their supporters cheer and call it a mile.
WE want 10 miles, get one mile, and then complain that its only an inch.
We sabotage ourselves. And today, the GOP is laughing in our face.

5. The Republicans are not good at messaging at all |
|
They just happened to luck out that their followers only want to hear one thing: less taxes, less government...
and even better that their sheeple believe that intellectual thought is a sign of weakness and is among one of the top 50 thousand things they are afraid of.
It is the blessing/curse of the Democratic party that we celebrate differences and actually believe in thinking things through. It is also why we bicker over results like last night, when the amazing, glaring truth of Republican/Low Information voter Neanderthalism really explains it all quite simply.

10. yes and they say the same thing every day |
|
I guess I should say they are good at saying the same thing over and over again that's consistent messaging, more than good messaging. I guess I just hate to say their message is good, because in all honesty, it seems to suck b@lls.
