Speaker Pelosi will run for Minority Leader. She does not quit!
Edited on Fri Nov-05-10 12:18 PM by flpoljunkie
Speaker Pelosi comes from the 'Democratic wing of the Democratic party,' and so do I.

Driven by the urgency of creating jobs & protecting #hcr, #wsr, Social Security & Medicare, I am running for Dem Leader.

1. Daily Kos
Pelosi to run for Dem leader

"We're getting about 1,250 signups on the petition every 10 minutes. The more we have, the bigger the statement we can make!"

Go Nancy!

10. Compare this to McConnell:
Driven by the need to get that uppity black man out of the WHITE House I want to lead Republicans in the Senate.

2. I want her back. If she doesn't come back, who do we have? Steny Hoyer?
Chris Van Hollen seems like a good guy but he lacks the passion and the ability to lead like she does.

12. Denniis Kucinich would be a great choice.
Definitely no on the bank industry whore Hoyer, or the DLC enabling Van Hollen

21. I don't see Dennis K being able to rally others. He seems more like a loner type.
Not really his personality. I don't know. I like Nancy the best.

Edited on Fri Nov-05-10 12:27 PM by bigdarryl
She needs to go to the White House when the President gets back from Asia and tell him to fucking MAN UP and do not give in to anything we worked for two years for

Just tweeted:

The Blue Dogs (what's left of them) are mobilizing against her. Let's show her and the rest of the Democratic caucus that we have her back.

We're getting about 1,250 signups on the petition every 10 minutes. The more we have, the bigger the statement we can make!

9. I can't tell you how THRILLED I am to hear this! Apparently it's kind of a
'tradition' for the Speaker to retire if the House is lost. Just listening now to Russert admitting she's a polarizing figure in the Dem family, some consider her toxic. Andrea said her job primarily was to keep the House, not to do the politicking she did.

I disagree. Look how much more effective she was than Reid, for example. We've got the Senate, but they accomplish nothing.

25. You know why she's been labeled as a "polarizing" figure? Because she got shit done!
She was heavily targeted because of that. I'm so glad she's dusted herself off and decided to run again.

Speaker or not, she needs to be the voice of the Democrats.

She can take him.

18. I like and respect Nancy

But wouldn't a good political move for the party be for someone else to take the reigns, a new face? I'm not talking about a freaking DINO either. What about Dennis K? He can handle whatever shirt-storm the Skunks throw at him.

24. Squashing Heath Schuler would be a nice symbolic show of strength,

and indicate that she still means business.

If there was somebody TOUGHER and MORE LIBERAL who has seniority and the popularity to win the job, then maybe I would support them instead of Pelosi... but I'm sure that all the alternatives to Pelosi would fulfilling the bullshit meme that "After this election, Dems need to move to the center even more".
