No matter what this President does, it will never be good enough
for some of you! History will show that he and Clinton were the best Presidents!

The only thing I dislike with President Obama is his wanting to work with the GOP, they hate him and will never ever support him, no matter if it is good for the American people!

He needs to get over that and use whatever policital gain he has left to ramrod the GOP and get his policies go through!

5. I know, and I am wondering why his advisors cannot put him on the
right path. But personally, does he really think the GOP will work with him. First fucking downfall!

34. Yeah, no shit
He really lost me when he bragged the health insurance bill contained, "Every republican idea," but zero republicans voted for it.

Besides his obsession with tiptoeing through the tulips with the GOP, I largely agree with what he has done.

35. that's like saying the only thing you disliked about Reagan was his economic policy
or the only thing you disliked about Bush was the wars, fear-mongering, and torture.

4. You got the title line right
We've got a lot of people who are just set on hating him no matter what.

However, he should be insulted to get lined up with Clinton like that. Clinton was bad. And I'll be honest, I'm not 100% sold on what Obama will amount to, at the end, six years from now. right now he ranks about a Carter - his heart's in the right place, but he's just rowing the lifeboat in a circle. And sorry, but "sweet but kinda dumb" doesn't look that great in the history books.

But on the bright side? He has six more years to go - and despite the fondest wishes of his "base," he's going to be in there until 2016 - hat's more than enough time to get the shit together. FDR's first few years were fucking godawful, too, and for about the same reasons.

Obama needs to clean out his cabinet. That's really all it would take for him to really shine.

So what are you hoping for? A sudden, tragic need to swear Biden in as president? 'Cause Obama's taking 2012 home. Guaranteed.

29. Did you even know what you said? You'd rather be under China's rule?
Let me see what life would be like under a Communist Chinese government rule:

1.) No free Internet. All your online communications are monitored and censored at will.

2.) Any criticism of the government is met with harsh retribution.

3.) No environmental concerns. They are counterproductive to the wishes of the government.

4.) No labor unions. They are counterproductive to the wishes of the government.

5.) Working in substandard conditions. Your children too. Everyone works, all day, all night!

But yeah, let's have a Chinese-style government because you are moaning about President Obama and V.P. Biden. :eyes:

13. I shall let history show that "he and Clinton were the best Presidents"
One Presidency is too recent to prove any claim that it was better than all that came before or after it.

The other is only half served.

I'll let history make those judgments.

36. Frankly I think that history will render judgement that Obama was
indeed a great president - exactly how great is yet to be determined. I would be a little cautious however about tossing around the phrase "the greatest" - Obama still has a long way to go before he can be compared with Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Andrew Jackson, Thomas Jefferson, James K. Polk, and John F. Kennedy, and it is highly unlikely that he will ever manage to break into the same tier of greatness as Franklin D. Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, and George Washington.

If I were to pick out to Presidents who Obama in his first two years has managed to draw even with in terms of "greatness" it would be (some are going to shriek at me for this) Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon. Both of these presidents had accomplishments surpassing those of Obama's first two years (LBJ had the Great Society, Nixon had the Opening to China, Detente with Russia, and some of his domestic policies), but Obama has managed to avoid the kind of negative aspects that detract from the greatness of their presidencies (in Johnson's case Vietnam, in Nixon's case Watergate and the corruption it has come to symbolize), as well as being a far more pleasant and generally admirable personality than either of these two.

In any case, I would say that Bill Clinton does not even enter into the equation. The 44th POTUS has now easily surpassed the accomplishments of the 42nd in my estimation, as he has those of every President from Gerald Ford onwards.

38. Some people just notice the negatives
some people cannot concentrate on anything positive for one second. I know many personally. If something is 99% good, they can only talk about that one per cent.
