President and Mrs. Obama to attend the Royal Wedding?
o_o Awesome news:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/royal-wedding/8149048/Royal-wedding-Prince-Williams-surprise-delay-is-a-gift-to-President-Barack-Obama.html

Prince William's admission that he and Kate Middleton had been "talking about marriage for a while" has meant that the delay in announcing the wedding date has caused some surprise.

Mandrake hears that the reason the couple have not been able to name the day is because of the difficulties in finding a window in the diary of President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle.

"We have been told that the Obamas are keen to attend the wedding and the British Government is equally eager to ensure that they can be there," a courtier tells me.

and love them all dearly; President Obama and Prince William are actually my 2 Idols lol. So this news gave me great joy. Recall the criticizm at the gift way back in 2009 as not extravagant enough. So how can anyone turn around now and say that this is too extravagant?

Also, the Queen and the Obamas have formed a very close friendship. So, it makes sense for them to go.

I don't look at this as a political matter at all but rather the "fun" part of being POTUS.

I should add that Nancy Reagan went to Diana's wedding/Hillary Clinton to Diana's funeral. So, it is sadly likely that just one of them will attend but both attending would be awesome.

6. I agree that it is likely that Michelle will attend and the President will not
As that has generally been the case in similar situations. I think it would have to be a wedding or funeral for the actual head of state for President Obama to be expected to attend.

4. Sorry, waste a money, since the couple have not announced the date yet.
The US is not part of the royal family, get shit done at home and stop wasting money on these frivolous occasions!

5. That's cool to hear
I'm not a royal-watcher, but it's nice to see the friendship/respect between the Obamas and the Royal Family continues to the extent that the wedding is being scheduled in concert with POTUS/FLOTUS' schedules. It'd be fun to see them both attend.
