email from MoveOn.org: Barack We Miss You
Anyone else get the email?

I want my president back

Right now, we need the Barack Obama of 2008 - a smart, tough progressive - to stand up to the GOP tax bailout for millionaires. But instead, he's talking about giving in. So we're asking those who fought hardest to elect him to send a message to the White House.

We Need the Barack Obama of 2008 Back

Now more than ever, we need the Barack Obama we elected in 2008—the smart, tough, hopeful progressive champion who inspired millions of us—to stand up and say "no" to a millionaire bailout.

So we're asking MoveOn members nationwide to record a video message from the heart to tell President Obama to go to the mat to stop any extension of the millionaire tax giveaways—and to bring back the progressive fighter we all knew and supported in 2008.

Can you record and upload a video today? Check out the example to the right, and just follow the steps below:
http://pol.moveon.org/obamavideo/

My wife and I are gonna do it.

4. It's just a way of "holding his feet to the fire"
didn't he say he wanted us to do that?

6. Oh yea, you held his feet on fire since January 21 2009. No wonder that he's half burned already

7. If he's been burned it's been by the Republicans he keeps trying to play nice with
while ignoring the people who elected him.

And, again, he's the one who told us to hold him to his promises. Just singing back up for him doesn't to anyone any good.

16. Another slap at an individual poster
and another excuse lodged for the President. Slanders and excuses, that is the whole of the message. Drive by one line slams, no discussion, ever. Just come in, fart loudly, and exit.

18. Saying that he's basically lost his way
and advocating for him (NOT) to do something (in this, case extend Bush Tax Cuts for the wealthy) are two different things IMHO. Obama hasn't ever wavered from his position that he won't extend the upper-class tax cuts- or at the very least he's demanding that the Republicans explain to him how they're going to be paid for (which he surely knows they won't). Move On and a lot of other people act like he has already caved when he hasn't.

3. You saw what you chose to see, heard what you chose to hear, and believed
what you chose to believe.

Obama never struck me as a guy who'd break necks. Apparently he did for other people.

9. I heard this
"There's no doubt that the tax system has been skewed and, the Bush tax cuts, people didn't need them and they weren't even asking for them and that's why they need to be lapsed so we can pay for universal health care and other initiatives. But I think this goes to a broader question and that is, are we willing to make the investments in genuine equal opportunity in this country?

People aren't looking for charity and one of the stressing things sometimes when we have a conversation about race in America is that we talk about welfare and we talk about poverty, but what people really want is fairness. They want people paying their fair share of taxes. They want that money allocated fairly.

http://www.pbs.org/kcet/tavissmiley/special/forums/candidates/obama.html

Are you suggesting that we shouldn't believe his words?

The fact of the matter is, millions of people worked hard for Obama, and will work hard again, with
or without MoveOn and their little threats.

19. My father recently said that about Obama. He's a con man. Note that my Dad
worked and campaigned hard for Obama.

I think the president is steadily losing supporters and it's very scary, seeing how the Corporate Media is doing their very best to promote Sarah Palin.

20. My whole family - three generations - worked hard for him...
None of us trusts him now, and all are saddened by the situation. But, that's what happens when actions don't match rhetoric.

Of course, the powers that be are pulling for Palin - she makes their puppet, GW, look like a genius. Whatever corporate America doesn't run by election day 2012, they'd run in a hurry with a Palin administration. Truth is, they run most everything now anyway - which is the reason Obama's rhetoric doesn't match his actions. A lot of people think the country will have to crash and burn before enough voters wake up to stop the corporate power grab.

21. I got it, too - I emailed them back that I am so disgusted with Mr. Obama, that
I have given up on him completely and expect nothing positive from his administration for the next 6 years.

He is a fake liberal - he DID run as a progressive, turned out to be a closet republican, and I am sorry I supported him - his presidency will be another waste of precious time for the left.

I'm not wasting any more of my time talking to the DLC wall surrounding the President.
