They should keep the congress in session thru Christmas if necessary |
|
until congress passes an extention to unemployment benefits. They also shouldn't accept any threats from the GOP tying extending benefits to extending tax cuts for the rich.

1. Chain them to their seats until they take care |
|
of everything that should have been finished throughout the year. Bastards.

2. Who are these "they" to whom you refer? Surely you cannot be asking the Democrats to curtail |
|
their holiday to take care of issues important to us peons.

3. They willingly did so in 2009 for Healthcare reform |

The big difference was that they had 60 votes. So, the weekend sessions up through Christmas Eve were needed just because of Republican procedural moves to drag out what was already going to happen.
This time, there is not the same predictable success. The problem is that there are many things the Democrats want to pass - that the Republicans are stopping - acting as bullies on a playground. The problem is the Democrats DO care that unemployment is not yet extended - the Republicans really don't.
