Harry Reid has just asked that the Dream Act vote set for 11, be vitiated. |

1. Does that mean we all have to do like Sen. David Vitter (R) and wear diapers? |

9. I heard what he said but didn't understand. Perhaps something to do with the fact |
|
that the Senate had made the Dream Act part of the Defense Approp. bill. Maybe he wants to remove it from there and try to get a separate vote on the House-approved version. We'll see.

4. Is that because we need 60 votes? |

8. Kyl means it when they say R's will not move forward on anything until they get tax cuts bill passed |
|
If Reid had held the vote, it would have failed, and lilkely dropped with no prospect of passage when the R's take over the House next year.
Perhaps this means Reid will do the tax deal first. It's a done deal. Why not get it done and then move on to cloture for the Defense Authorizion bill so both DADT and the DREAM Act can get a vote--altho, sadly, prospects for the latter are not good.
