How You Like Me Now?
Edited on Fri Dec-24-10 10:03 AM by DemocratSinceBirth
As you know I am very fond of the ancient Chines proverb "That there are two ways you can do in your opponent. You can dig a hole for your opponent and wait for him to fall in or you can perch him on top of a mountain and wait for him to fall off." Our great leader, President Obama, has done the latter. Who would have thunk after the shellacking we took in November we would get

Stimulus 2
The repeal of DADT
The passage of START
9-11 First Responders Bill

Back to my favorite Chinese proverb. President Obama has laid a trap for the Republicans. They are going to try to use the deficit they created to try to cut popular entitlement programs like Medicare and Social Security. This will give our great leader the opportunity to be the defender of these popular programs and cast the Republicans in their rightful roles as the stone hearted bastards they truly are who would throw granny out in the street; in the dead of Winter and without even a coat.

Barack Obama is a genius. If he was a boxer he would be Ali. If he was a basketball player he would be Jordan. If he was a football player he would be Joe Montana. If he was a soccer player he would be Pele. If he was a singer he would be Elvis.

Here's a little video from President Obama to the Republicans:

23. What is the "left" to you?
People who don't advocate permanently holding people without trial, anyone concerned about the future of SS sparked by the Obama Commisson, anyone who disagrees with you?

Is it different from the "radical left", or "Professional left', or the "hard left" or the DFHs?

13. For the rich and powerful they got just what they wanted.
Corporate personhood, tax breaks, no prosecution of torturers, no public option, a police state. As far as the powerful and rich the poor, middle class and marginalized got the crumbs. Equal rights for homosexuals should have been taken care of years ago. The fight is not over. War criminals have still not been prosecuted. People are still dying because they don't have health care. I wonder if our President still laughs when legalization of marijuana is mentioned.

14. While Obama has accomplished alot, I certainly wouldn't compare him to Ali, Jordan - etc.
Unemployment is still ridiculously high. As is the deficit.
Welfare for millionaires and billionaires?

Yes - congrats to Obama, Biden, Pelosi and Reid for a job well done in December. Let's see what happens during the rest of his term.

16. What he needs to do on the deficit is lay out a clear realtively CENTRIST plan that most D's can
swallow but will put a TARGET on the backs of the PUKES if they don't buy in. If he makes the plan clear to the public (and no, it won't involve slashing SS and Medicare nor offering permanent extensions to the rich), then the PUKES go SLAM into the pavement when then balk at a popular plan and instead want to cut SS and Medicare WHILE extending tax cuts to millionaires. If he plays it right, he beats them BIGTIME.

17. That didn't seem to work very well in November
Edited on Fri Dec-24-10 10:37 AM by Armstead
Republicans have been pushing Mr. Potter Policies since Obama was president (and long before that) and it doesn't seem to hurt them.

Voters still reward their policies of cold-hearted greed and rewards to the wealthy and the corporate elite. They have been rewarded with control of the House, and a stronger position in the Senate.

Something more is needed than assuming that their behavior going forward will make them look like hard-hearted bastards. If they get the whole store and continue to devastate the social contract, it really doesn't matter what we whiny liberals think.

You don't take a chess piece to a gunfight.

In order to keep seats many Blue Dogs ran away from him and it was the BD's who were annihilated in the recent elections.
