Poll question: Income and approval of President Obama's job performance

Use your instincts what what poor, middle class, and well-to-do mean. For me, poor means worrying about how I'm going to pay my rent or buy food; middle class means changing my vacation plans after I get a $1,000 auto repair bill; well to do means choosing a flat screen tv based on the features I want more than price; and rich means I only need to work part-time and can still live comfortably.

1. There has been endemic poverty in this country for decades.

Obama is no worse or better at addressing this.

The crisis began in the 80s and continues into Obama's term.

40 million live in poverty...among children, the USA has some of the highest poverty in the industrial world.

Few if any politicians--Dems or Pubs--care, including the present Commander-in-Chief.

I strongly disapprove of the neoliberal direction of our economy.

2. Congress
Obama has a very fractious and disorganized party in Congress to try and work with. The party is really very weak.
I consider it a wonder, considering the condition of the Democratic Party, that it passed decent legislation.

3. I'm middle class and
I disapprove of Obama's job performance.

I did not, however vote in the above poll because, although I disapprove of Obama'a job performance, his performance is substantially above Bush's, and substantially above what McCain or any other plausible Republican's could reasonably be expected to be,

and because I don't like the way that negative perceptions of Obama are being used to portray him as overly liberal when in fact most of the problems with his job performance are more closely related to too much compromise with Republicans.

4. Too generic for me: I am poor and I realize that he and I have some
very strong enemies and they often win because of ignorance and greed.

5. Trying to get a few more people to vote
Not really enough votes, but so far it supports a hypothesis that those who can most afford it are more likely to be dissatisfied with Obama. Let's see if that trend continues.
