Ron Paul is opposed to most liberal/progressive positions. The only issue where many liberals have agreed with him is his opposition to the Iraq/Afghanistan conflicts. Otherwise he's a libertarian/conservative wacko. Here's where he stands:

The American Journal of Political Science found Paul to be the most conservative of all 3,320 members of Congress from 1937 to 2002. He advocates withdrawal from the United Nations and NATO. He supports tighter border security and opposes welfare for illegal aliens, birthright citizenship and amnesty. He regularly votes against almost all proposals for new government spending, initiatives, or taxes. He supports eliminating most federal government agencies.

He advocates states' rights to decide how to regulate social matters not directly found in the Constitution. He claims to be strongly pro-life and "an unshakable foe of abortion", and he believes life begins at conception. With respect to the environment he favors private property rights in relation to environmental protection and pollution prevention. He wants to eliminate federal involvement in health care, which he claims would allow prices to drop due to the effects of a free market. He is also opposed to government flu inoculation programs. He thinks the 1964 Civil Rights Act is unconstitutional.

Doesn't sound like somebody I'd want to elect dogcatcher.

I just find his fans to be fun since they are wacky conspiracy guys who just make me laugh. Just like Ron Paul himself. That post was just there so we can all laugh at how his fans think he loves the Founding Fathers and America so much, since they aren't any different then Bush fans.
