2. You realize the Republicans have the majority.... |
|
...in the House of Representatives, and as such there will be no funding to close Gitmo and not the slightest bit of interest in Bradley Manning right?
The Obama administration couldn't get money to close Gitmo with a Democratic Congress, what makes you think it would be any easier now?
Lastly, the cause of Bradley Manning will be as popular with the American people as the Free Mumia stuff. That means, no interest whatsover from the great bulk of Americans who will consider his actions near traitorous and have no sympathy for him at all. Do not expect most Democrats to spend much time worrying about Manning because it isn't going to happen.

3. The Rep. Congress will NOT allow Guantanamo to close, and they |
|
fillibustered it when in minority. Their position does not make sense to me. No one cares about Bradley Manning, unfortunately.

4. The Democrats blocked closing Gitmo... |
|
..it didn't take a Republican filibuster.
The US Senate with a massive Democratic majority in 2009 voted 90-6 to delete the funding required to close Gitmo. That isn't even close and it didn't require GOP obstructionism to block closing Gitmo.
Gitmo isn't going to close anytime soon, and the American public is never, ever going to be sympathetic to Bradley Manning.
