I am posting this because I saw a thread in which people were concerned about the phrase, "Obama regime." I think this phrase only sounds insulting if one is unfamiliar with the actual meaning of the word. All governments and hierarchical organizations have regimes.

1. It's the right wing use of the word
Right wingers use it routinely as in the Obama "regime." So it's taken on a taint of negativity.

2. Funny.
Is adopting Republican's definitions for words in our best interests?

3. They have the media and so their uses tend to get widespread
acceptance.

Generally this country is not thought of as having a "regime" either. It has a connotation of dictatorship.

It's like using "Barry" or the like. We know it's right winger code. So using it just makes one look like they might be coming from that perspective.
