10. This is about women's health, and as critical as people might be about Obama, there is no way he
would compromise on that.

Yes, he has "compromised" on other things, but this represents 60% of the population

11. He gets no credit period. Its just like health insurance reform
where he shows at the end for a few photo ops after having done nothing in the process but announce his reelection effort.

9. That was my first thought
It's another case of folks trying to declare an accomplishment before it has happened. Congress hasn't actually passed anything for him to sign, or veto, yet. And the government shutdown hasn't actually happened yet. Both sides probably know that they can acually let this happen over the weekend with little if any consequence. The real "test" of everyones resolve will be early next week, probably by Tuesday.

12. WE NEED TO GIVE OBAMA CREDIT FOR NOT BEING DARTH VADER....
Excuse me if I don't.

No confidence. None at all.

Obama has given the farm away, wholesale. Tax cuts for the rich, service cuts for the most vulnerable Americans to pay for the lavish life styles of the wealthy.

America is not broke. This has all been a sham.

22. Agreed, but he was hardly alone in this Kabuki production.
Personally, I have doubts that very few those in DC of either party, much care one bit about how badly they screw us, as long as they get theirs.

18. I give him credit, thus far, but this is far from over. I will point out that there's an irony to
this showdown. If Obama does not back down, he will win this fight. BUT, it will also show that he could of taken tougher stances in the past and won many more battles.

19. You've got to be fucking kidding me
$78.5 billion is not "standing up against the bullies." It's giving the bullies almost 80% of what they wanted. It's a massive failure.

20. Agree completely!
This was a disaster and does not bode well for future deliberations. As I've heard reported, I also believe Boehner came out empowered. It will not get any easier. There is almost no one willing to stand up for the middle class and poor. Shame!
