Tea Party in Full Meltdown over "Boehner's Cave"

Tea Party in Full Meltdown over "Boehner's Cave"

by joelgp

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness. There is a crisis in the Tea Party! I took a late night scroll around Foxnation, Redstate and Hotair and people, these conservatives are going nuts over what is now affectionately called "Boehner's Cave."

These people were seriously expecting 100 billion in cuts, the defunding of Planned Parenthood, Obamacare and the EPA or a complete shutdown. Now in full disclosure, I contributed just a little to their meltdown with several "well timely" posts like these:

1. "breaking news: the gop caved on planned parenthood, caved on destroying the EPA, and fully funded obamacare. okay? what's next?"

2. "i cannot believe the tea party is rolling over and fully funding obamacare and planned parenthood. dang, we should have thrown in the dream act and cap-n-trade if we knew they would wimp out so easily. oh well...governing is hard."

Okay, okay, I'm sorry--people, it was fun.

Needless to say, the screaming was loud, sustained and furious. Check out the whaling and gnashing of teeth over on Hotair:

1. "The Republicans LOST a warmup game – and lost it big. There is NO reason to believe they’ll show any better in the upcoming fights on the debt ceiling and the 2012 budget. Sorry – if they couldn’t cut $100B as they promised – which is only two weeks worth of deficit out of this budget – they don’t have the nuts to win any bigger fight."

2. "If anyone thinks that the Ryan plan has any chance of seeing the light of day, I want some of what you’re smoking. If you can’t win in this small battle how are you going to win in the bigger war. Major, epic, fail."

3. "$39 B in cuts? If that buys more than 4 days of “business as usual,” it is an incredibly bad deal: so bad, that Boehner MUST GO!!!"

4. "Well, first I heard defunding NPR was a minor battle, the BIG battle was the cuts in the CR! Then I heard the CR was a minor battle, the BIG battle was the budget for the year! Now it’s the Ryan budget? Give me a break…when you practice over and over how to cave, the only thing you are good at is caving." http://hotair.com/archives/2011/04/08/report-budget-agreement-for-39-billion-in-cuts-may-be-imminent

And then there's the "special people" at Foxnation:

1. "As Speaker of the House, John Boehner is acting like a junior member of congress. Speaker Boehner, haven't you heard the latest news? Obama and George Soros want to push the new Tea Party members out of congress and replace them with radical leftwing members. The tax dollars you just surrendered to Obama's campaign chest last night will help he do just that. Why are you helping Obama elect liberals to replace conservatives???"

2. "Bohner quite the negotiator for the dems He was asked to cut 100 billion and agreed to that, then it became 61 billion. final product 38.5 billion the dems # with funding for planned parenthood still in place, We need change folks." http://nation.foxnews.com/government-shutdown/2011/04/08/sources-deal-reached-avoid-government-shutdown

And then there's the "friends of CNN" at Redstate:

1. "So they hold a vote about PP funding and Obamacare on the Senate floor and it goes down to defeat, and the GOP claims that it has kept its agreement with the voters. I guess they really do think we’re idiots."

2. "Now they can’t hide from their votes and will have to defend their votes for supporting a baby-killing machine and the fiscal nightmare known as Obamacare." http://www.redstate.com/hogan/2011/04/08/republican-austerity

The difference is the Teabaggers are actually having some impact on the GOP while our lefty-baggers.. not so much.. thank goodness.

4. Rec'ed for sweetening bitter medicine just a little with teabag tears
But we can all agree that overall, these cuts will hurt the economic recovery, which was the intent of the republicans. Finally, until we know where the specific cuts were made, we should hold off gloating and/or celebrating. I fear we will not like what we find.

from here on DU??

I can see it now, they're sitting across the table trying to convince each other that "your side" got everything it wanted, and "our side" got screwed!!!

Then, the DU folks describing their plan to primary Obama and get a "real liberal instead of a corporatist" ... then the Tea Party folks describing how they want to get rid of Boehner and replace him with a "real conservative" ...

12. Posting on DU, or on a right wing web site is not "exerting force" ...
on politicians, or anyone else.

And what I actually find very funny ... is that the TONE of the quotes in the OP from the right wing, and the TONE of the anti-Obama posts here on DU, are EXACTLY the same. As I read the quotes above, I found the similarities uncanny.

It was like a parallel universe experience.

26. I've had that too
In fact one thing I recommend for the depressed is to do what I did once - I went and read (pre web) the National Review, Reason, and some other conservative publications. The National Review was set up just like the Nation, even having a poem, editorials, articles, book reviews and a puzzle at the back. The content was conservative.

After reading a lot of it, I felt much better. The conservatives felt that they were ignored and their concerns a laughingstock, that the liberals had taken over Washington. The liberals had Hollywood, too. Hollywood laughed at their conservative values. The liberals controlled the media too, of course.

I realized just how powerful we were!

Edited on Sat Apr-09-11 11:21 PM by lfairban
Berlin, 1930's, a Jewish man is sitting on a bench, reading the Nazi newspaper. A friend sits down beside him and asks, "Why in the world are you reading the Nazi paper?" He replies, "When I get home my wife tells me we do not have enough food to eat and our clothes are in tatters, and I have to tell her that I don't have any money to buy more. When I read this paper, it tells me Jews have all the money, own all the banks, and all the jewelry stores, and control all the finances of Europe."

29. It is restrictive. It interferes with the free market.
The government is incompetent to do anything and just wants power. Global warming or climate change is not a problem, that always happens to the earth, but the left wingers try to use it to gain power. The GW hoax is especially insidious, as it can lead to the all evil One World Government (the UN is part of the conspiracy on this too).

The EPA is probably involved in protecting endangered species. If they are extinct, it's God's will! Who cares about the (their favorite endangered species here) when people need to build on that land? Why do the libruls value animals over people???

It is a socialist plot to pry into businesses and have the government take them over.

Why Michele Bachmann (R-MI) http://bachmann.house.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=235082">voted nay:

“The deal that was reached tonight is a disappointment for me and for millions of Americans who expected $100 billion in cuts, who wanted to make sure their tax dollars stopped flowing to the nation’s largest abortion provider, and who wanted us to defund ObamaCare. Instead, we’ve been asked to settle for $39 billion in cuts, even as we continue to fund Planned Parenthood and the implementation of ObamaCare. Sadly, we’re missing the mandate given us by voters last November, and for that reason I voted against the Continuing Resolution.”

It just goes to show the complacency, the bad judgment, and the less than stellar intelligence of those people. He told members of the Tea Party that lived in the DC area, Virginia, or Maryland to go to Boehner's house and dump a bag of garbage on his front lawn today to send him a message.

Last night's crawler on either MSNBC or CNN showed the news about the e-mail at the bottom of the screen 2 or 3 times before they stopped running it.
