Obama & Plouffe's brilliant masterstroke on the deficit reduction!

To all my progressive friends, no need to gnash the teeth over Obama's upcoming deficit plan. You see, Obama will propose a plan that basically will affect everyone in the country. It will likely contain cuts in programs we like, but will also, and more importantly, contain tax increases.

The masterstroke you say...?

Well he knows full well that no plan containing tax increases on rich people will EVER pass the GOP house. And Obama and Dems would never accept a deficit reduction plan that ONLY hurts poor people without any taxes on the rich.

So guess what happens? NOTHING....

Obama goes in into 2012 saying he did try to tackle deficit w/an honest plan and it was the Repugs that wouldn't come to the table cause they wanted to protect the rich. And this will be what he'll run on in 2012. It's a brilliant strategy where he can accept credit for tackling the debt, knowing full well nothing will pass.

So DU'ers, don't fret!
