It always is in reference to Medicare and SS, and what they want is for Obama to call for cuts to benefits or privatization so they can say they're just following the president's lead.
They'll do it, but I don't think any one of them wants to go on record as actually spearheading it. Unless they're planning a retirement before next election of course. That's why they call it an "adjusment" or "reform".

Bush, we thought you Republicans were going to "co-operate" with Obama instead of acting like your perception of union workers - putting forth outrageous and unrealistic demands and not budging an inch, and calling it "negotiating" ...
