If Republicans really cared about the deficit
Edited on Thu Apr-14-11 02:22 AM by rpannier
They wouldn't encourage people like Santorum, Cain, Palin, Gingrich, etc to run.
The amount of money that has to be spent on things like Secret Service protection and federal campaign funds for these hacks and never-will-be-presidents could be used to decrease the debt.

2. They don't care about the deficit we all know that
And the cast of characters you named are simply part of the noise machine to make a Romney or what's his name from Minnesota look more reasonable when it comes to 2012. It also speaks to the fissures and splinters in the GOP at this time. I recall that the Democrats had a pretty big field in 2007, which of course narrowed in 2008. It's their party, just sit back and enjoy the show.

3. They only call for tax cuts for the wealthy when the economy's in the tank.
Edited on Thu Apr-14-11 05:18 AM by JohnnyRingo
When the sconomy is booming they claim "it's the people's money, not the government's", and they call for a tax decrease.

They're pretty flexible on that. LOL

4. "Secret Service protection"
as I understand it, the former presidents are still getting theirs ...

I also remember when it was first put forward that former Presidents get the protection for only 5 years after leaving office ... the biggest objector? Unelected Gerald Ford ...

7. From Bush 43 on former Presidents get only 10 years.
What needs to happen if it hasn't already is for Cheney to lose his Secret Service protection.

5. Republicans are the foot soldiers for rich. They exist to obey the
commands of their masters.

6. " If Repulicans really cared about the ____________" Fill in the
blank. It's my impression that Republicans really don't care about (i.e. don't give a rat's ass about) anything that doesn't either 1) benefit the rich and/or 2) screw over the working class and poor.
