2. So he is a formal rethug, he admits it, he even admits why he changed. It was the influence of his
wife. The link tries to imply that once a republican always a republican, which explains his pro Libya stance, however, they fail to point out there are plenty of Democrats who also supported that policy, along with those who voted for the IWR, the patriot act

I do not agree with the premise that people cannot change there mind.

3. This is not news. Ed talks a big game when he likes or doesn't like a measure.
War---he likes. Most liberals don't. Actually it's interesting---because he's against Iraq and Afghanistan wars too. Either way...this is irrelevant. We knew his past--moving on.

4. I was once deluded by the Republicans also - many many years ago
I was in business school. Wanted to be an investment banker.

And then I opened my eyes and returned to my liberal roots.

5. I've never liked Ed Shultz
Not because he is a former republican, he's always just seemed like such a loudmouth gasbag to me

6. I used to be a libertarian/conservative, so I think I can give Ed Schultz the benefit of the doubt.
People do change their minds, and people do occasionally pull their heads out of their asses.

Of course, I'm forever reminded of this Bill Hicks routine, which I think applies just as well to Dubya as it did to Reagan.

8. My opinion of Ed is that he is in it for the money
no ideological purity. I think he is an opportunist. I listen to him occasionally but more than often turn him off. He is a loud mouth and acts like a know it all.

I guess it's a good thing to have another voice on the air to promote liberal viewpoints... I just don't like him nor trust him.

10. Schultz's style is still that of right-wing scream-radio
Edited on Fri Apr-15-11 02:12 AM by Azathoth
It's hard to listen to his 20-minute browbeatings and harangues even when you agree with what he's saying.

11. Ed Shultz is A OK with me
I'm glad he's a former Republican, God bless him. May there be MANY more former Republicans. Ed is a populist, probably always has been, but now he is a leftist populist. That isn't as far an ideological journey as it seems at first glance. Populists already know that the game is rigged against them. The key lies in understanding who is doing the rigging, and Ed's got that down cold now.
