"The fault, dear Brutus..."(rant)
"...lies not in our stars, but in our selves."
The Ryan budget is OUR FAULT.
The Rethugs are being Rethugs; we know - we've ALWAYS known - what they are: greedy, cowardly, shameless, two-faced and amoral. Why do we blame them for being what they are? If someone throws a pirhana into a crowded swimming pool, who's to blame? The pirhana who's doing what comes naturally, or the asshole who threw it in the pool?
In this case, WE are the assholes.
Anybody on the left who stayed home last November - you know damned well who you are - because you didn't like the ACA; because Obama is a corporatist; because you just didn't like Obama's face; guess what? You got those Rethugs elected just as surely as if you threw a lever for them.

1. This was a state election, not for president. Wisconsin has not always been the bastion of
progressives

Why did Feingold lose? Who knows, but progressives DID NOT STAY HOME, they voted for Feingold. The problem is Wisconsin, and the country have shifted hard right, much because of media misrepresentation

When Obama said those who made more than 250K would be taxed at a higher rate, it was not explained well what that meant. It meant that everyone up to 250K would pay a lower tax, and the amount over 250K would be at a higher tax. I saw so many distortions, and outright lies regarding just that one issue

Today in a speech to fund raiser the President articulated what he should have been doing all along, the differences between the parties.

Hopefully that will continue

When HCR passed, where were the Democrats defending it? In fact many ran away from it.

If the people are confused it is because their representatives are confusing them, along with the media of course
