"The Donald trumped on abortion question?"
Did you catch this from Savannah Guthrie's interview with Trump?:

Guthrie: “Is there a right to privacy in the Constitution?”

Trump: “I guess there is, I guess there is. And why, just out of curiosity, why do you ask that question?”

When pressed to explain how his position on the right to privacy “squares” with his anti-abortion position, Trump responded: “Well, that’s a pretty strange way of getting to pro-life. I mean, it’s a very unique way of asking about pro-life. What does that have to do with privacy? How are you equating pro-life with privacy? ”

Guthrie asked, “well, you know about the Roe v. Wade decision.” Trump responded, “yes, right, sure. Look, I am pro-life. I’ve said it. I’m very strong there.”

Not to mention he was pro-choice 'til he started running as a Birther/Teabagger, and now we discover he doesn't even know what "the right to privacy," which he "guesses" he believes is in the Constitution, has to do with Roe v. Wade?! And last week we discovered he doesn't even know how many people make up the House of Representatives! What a joke!

1. The "I don't know shit" stragegy worked well for LePage in Maine
and now we're dealing with the fallout. Why do Americans admire ignorance?

2. Only ignorant Americans admire ignorance...
it's the "S/he's just like me" thing, and somehow they want their president/politicians to be as ignorant as they are. But Trump's incompetence combined with his flip-flops will do him in. He's supposedly the "best" at EVERYTHING.

5. I always wonder if the people with that mind-set then also
believe that they themselves would make a good President and are qualified to do the job...Since their candidate of choice is "just like them".

14. LePage only got about 38% of the vote
If Trump is the GOP nominee, he would need a lot more than that to win.

6. EVERYBODY is technically "pro-life"
at least insofar as nobody (well, except maybe serial killers) is "anti-life" and/or "pro-death". People whom believe that obtaining and/or performing an abortion should be illegal should be more correctly referred to as "anti-abortion" or "anti-choice".
By the same token, being "pro-choice" is NOT the same as being "pro-abortion". We need to make sure that people are making the appropriate distinctions.

10. It's not the point of not being able to explain his (new) position on the subject...
it's that he doesn't understand what "the right to privacy in the Constitution" means in relation to the subject of the right to have an abortion.

To do HOMEWORK? LOL! Even Sarah didn't do that for the VP seat. Come to think of it, why even go to school these days. When you can be so dumb and hold high office, why try any harder. How can anyone respect the position of high office if you don't even know what the job entails. Or even it's history. This is sickening.

16. For someone who constantly brags about how smart he is and how great
he is and how "good" he did in school (which was proof that he didn't REALLY do so WELL in school afterall), he should at least know the BASICS of govt.

17. Wow. Trump likes to trumpet about what a SMART guy he is,
over and over and over, but the exchange above sure debunks that!

I actually just saw him this morning on GMA being interviewed by George Stephanopolous. George asked him about his switch from pro-choice to anti-choice and I found his reason so weak and silly as to be implausible. He is pandering.

His reason was this: He had a "story" to tell about some friends of his, who, when the woman became pregnant both the man and woman did not want a child. They were going to abort. For some reason, not stated by Trump, they ended up having the baby. Now they just love that baby so much and can't imagine ever wanting to abort it.

THAT'S HIS REASON FOR FLIPPING HIS STANCE????!!!! Really? Lame beyond belief. So because one couple changed their minds about aborting and ended up being very happy with that choice, then that choice should be mandated for all??!! Fucking idiot.

As an aside, when George pressed him several times about what his "investigators" are finding in Hawaii on his birther quest, he got snippy and refused to answer anything, only saying we'll have to wait and see. He is a typical Republican asshole of the highest order.

20. Wow-what a LAME excuse for changing his stance on the right to have an abortion...
they all make up some story that explains why they changed their position on abortion rights (right around the time they want to run for president), but his excuse should be investigated. Trump is in his 60s. I'd like to see who this "friend" is. I don't buy it for a second.

And the fact that he claimed he's "strong" on the issue is clearly false since he was pro-choice, as well as pro-gun control and pro-gay rights and pro-universal health care. All he REALLY is is pro-TRUMP.

18. If there is a Constitutional right to abortion via Privacy...
Why is there no right to take steroids or smoke pot? Own body right? I don't think one can be illegal for personal use and one can be legal. Either both are covered under the Right to Privacy law, or neither are.

21. Did you see his answer re: how many members in the House?:
As a sort of test, I asked if he knew how many members there are in the U.S. House of Representatives. He responded,

Well I don’t want to answer your questions because this isn’t a history class. You people, you know you are trying to do the Sarah Palin stuff. And anytime somebody asks me a question like who is the leader of Abu Dhabi, I say this isn’t a history class, okay? And I actually know. And I know your answer too, but I refuse to answer it. You know why? Because it’s not a history class. And because it’s an irrelevant question. Because you could get some stiff who knows every one of those answers but is incapable of governing.

 Riiight-he knows the answer, but this is not a history class!
