feel about Big Ed supporting Trump last night regarding a proposed tax on China imports? What the hell is Ed doing trumping up Trump?

2. At first I was upset. Sure trump said what should be said but I do not
want to promote him. But in the end Ed did turn it around so that no matter what trump said he still was not a good candidate for president. I have a feeling all the news people do not believe he is going to run and so they play along with him. I hope they are right and he does not run.

3. They both are blowhards and both of them annoy me.
I kind of agree on taxing Chinese imports though. My biggest competitor is a Chinese company whose prices I couldn't come close to compete with.

4. He explained this on his radio show - He thinks Trump backed himself into a corner
He said that he backed Trump when Trump said he'd bring jobs back to America as a means of getting Trump to be specific.

So now, Ed thinks Trump has stepped into it by saying something definitive like this and Trump should back it up with a definitive plan.

But Ed doesn't think Trump was doing anything but mouthing off and has no plan. Proposing a tax on China that holds so much of our debt is a joke of a plan and Ed knows it.

Anyhow - that's what I heard Ed talk about this morning during the first half hour of his show. He also said that he thinks Trump is an ass or some such derogatory term.

5. That is funny. I saw Big Ed doing a tongue in cheek routine
about Trump. He kept repeating--"He wants to bring back
jobs." If we listened carefully, he would say--what
about creating jobs? Bring back jobs???? I think we
all including Ed knows very very rarely will a company
bring back jobs once they have shipped them out.

At the very end, he said OK MR. Trump if you are serious
then tell us HOW you are going to bring back jobs.

My Gosh, I heard Trump weeks ago talk about all the jobs
being overseas. I said he could make hay with this issue
if he came up with some believable approaches. FREE TRADE
IS A JOB KILLER for the US. Tea Party in particular
get upset over Trade Policy. We all know Wall St and
Conservatives in both parties will fight to the death
over Free Trade. I think this is why Ed ended by saying
please explain how you will bring jobs back.

8. exactly. The parody was clear. I can't believe
people missed it. I guess it is the left's version of GOPers thinking Steven Colbert is serious.

9. Exactly - Ed Would Never Vote For the Hairpiece
besides, there's no bringing back those jobs - the Paul Ryan's of the congressional-world, won't allow it.

6. So he should have argued against tariffs on China because Trump calls for them?
That is simpleminded as can be, just adopt a contrarian agenda for partisanship?

What happens when Republicans have several positions?

7. Ed is ill informed. Trump is out for himself and only cares about the China issue
because he cannot compete on the same level as China.

10. Why no link or quote? I do not want to hear your inferrences
and editorializing and then be asked for an opinion. I generally expect that tactic from the right wing.

11. I like Big Ed and I like Pres. Obama - but that doesn't mean I always agree with them...
If Ed agrees with something Trump says, it doesn't mean he's "trumping up Trump" - it's ridiculous to agree with somebody just because you like them and disagree with somebody because you don't like him.

14. What is the big deal if every now and then you agree with a repug - even if it is a nutcase ??
Taxing imports from China and other countries with cheap labor just might make US workers look more attractive to businesses. It just might help us compete.

Right now we cannot compete and since the US society wants everything for next to nothing, imports from China fill the need.

15. +1
Even a broken clock is right twice a day...remember NAFTA...xenophobic Pat Buchanan told us NAFTA would suck jobs out of America...and Ron Paul wants to get rid of our Military bases around the world as if we are sustaining an empire. The brilliance is generally short lived, though.

Edited on Fri Apr-22-11 08:21 AM by think
And ending American imperialism. Fuck supporting all those military bases to keep multi national corps feeling secure while they outsource our jobs. Let those fuckers pay for their own God damn security. Fuck the multinational corporations!
