(Yawn) New Poll: Obama and Romney neck-and-neck
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Republican Mitt Romney has drawn almost even with President Barack Obama in a new poll asking U.S. voters who they would support if the two men ran against each other in the 2012 U.S. presidential election.

The McClatchy-Marist poll released Wednesday showed Obama with the support of 46 percent of 1,084 registered voters surveyed, compared to 45 percent for Romney, in a hypothetical match-up between the Democratic president and the Republican who is exploring a possible presidential run.

Nine percent of respondants said they were undecided. In a January poll, Obama led Romney 51 percent to 38 percent.

Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, this month formed an exploratory committee to raise money for a challenge to Obama in the 2012 election.

To be fair, the survey did indicate that Mittens was the only Repube within striking distance of the president, but my instinctive reaction to polls has always been, "Wake me up on Election Day."

BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE WOULD'VE, OKAY??? :P

1. Doesn't matter, really.
Isn't he still way down on the RW polls? The only reason (imo) that he polls well generally is because he appears to be moderate in the mainstream. He's not very well liked among the teapers and RW fringe. You know, the ones that make all the decisions for the Republicans.

I admit it. I support the Tea Party. With every idiotic word and action, they promote the crazy that will keep Rs out of our government. How could I not support that?

3. Not surprised. The Obama bashing is constant. We shall see what happens when the campaigns start up.
If people want to remain complacent we will definitely have a Republican President. The media will gladly co operate.

4. Are we going to do this daily for the next year and a half?
I wish we could put some kind of moratorium on these kind of polls until, say, May 2012.

5. Wonder what the delay was...

This survey of 1,274 adults was conducted on April 10th through April 14th, 2011. Adults 18 years of age and older residing in the continental United States were interviewed by telephone. Telephone numbers were selected based upon a list of telephone exchanges from throughout the nation. The exchanges were selected to ensure that each region was represented in proportion to its population. To increase coverage, this land-line sample was supplemented by respondents reached through random dialing of cell phone numbers. The two samples were then combined. Results are statistically significant within ±3.0 percentage points. There are 1,084 registered voters. The results for this subset are statistically significant within ±3.0 percentage points. There are 468 Republicans and Republican leaning independents. The results for this subset are statistically significant within ±4.5 percentage points. The error margin increases for cross-tabulations.

8. Hell, Mittens isn't even a shoo-in for the Puke nomination.
And besides, it's too much fun watching the crazies on the right chasing the nomination for now ...
