Negative Vibes: Not My Problem.
(Note: I wrote this and it is posted over on My blog, Four Freedoms Blog I wanted to share it here with DU)

I am more and more convinced that a certain alleged billionaire is not going to run for office. There are myriads of reasons why. I'd rather not take the time to discuss them on the pages of this blog. So, I suspect you are asking, 'Then why are you, Raine?' Heres why: Even if he isn't running, he is doing the damage. It's a psychic damage. I'm not talking about clairvoyency, I am talking about inner personal psyches that collectively add up and produce added negativity.

Over the weekend Trump appeared on the CBC's 700 club Asked about the so called "Muslim Problem" he offered this insightful opinion:
Well, I'll tell you what. The Koran is very interesting. A lot of people say it teaches love and there is a very big group of people who really understand the Koran far better than I do. I'm certainly not an expert, to put it mildly. But there's something there that teaches some very negative vibe.
He goes on to say this:
Now I don't know if that's from the Koran. I don't know if that's from some place else. But there's tremendous hatred out there that I've never seen anything like it.

So, you have two views. You have the view that the Koran is all about love and then you have the view that the Koran is, that there's a lot of hate in the Koran.
This comes on the heals of a video that was posted by our dear Velveeta yesterday, where we learned that many members of a particular Tea Party rally seemed to think that Trump is the new superstar of the fringe GOP. For me the problem isn't really so much Trump as it is the constant drumbeat of negativity, doom and gloom, and hellfire and brimstone that comes from a certain portion of our population.

Yes, there are a lot of problems. Yes there is often not a lot to be happy about, but when those in power manipulate and feed into all that bad karma, it just breeds more bad feelings. Take a look at the most recent "disaster averted" -- the Government Shutdown. The GOP - and the benefactors who have endowed them - told us in a steady drumbeat that NPR, Planned Parenthood, abortion, unemployment benefits, Medicaid, Medicare, Pell Grants, Head start, SCHIP, Gay marriage, and Social Security were all bad things that were crippling our nation. Obama is bad, Obama is a Kenyan (personally I think this one happened when someone confused Kenyan with keynesian, but I digress), Obama is the worst president ever, Obama won't work with us, Obama is in over his head, Obama isn't smart enough, taxes are too high, climate change isn't real, corporations are being hurt.... the list goes on. Trump is just the newest face of this negativity. Despite all this, they are really offering very little in solutions. It's built to a boiling point, and happily, the government was not shut down -- the damage however was already done.

This is a time in our nation when the discussion should be about the very basic things that allow our citizens to feel comfortable. Bread and Butter issues, as the old saying goes. Instead of discussing real issues like health care and our budget, Trump is leading the charge of negativity and conspiracy theories. It's not the Koran that is negative, It's Trump. It's the Tea Party and it is the GOP. It's full of punishment and suffering.

There are better ways to discuss the problems without resorting to tinfoil theories and the idea that suffering and anger will make things better. Take a look at this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ9hVMN8UMY&feature=player_embedded

See that? Problems were discussed with solutions offered without feeding upon negativity. It's not a sermon, it's not doom and gloom, nor hell fire and brimstone. it's just a suggestion. It's something that allows for you to think for yourself.

The GOP, the Tea Party and now, the newest negative thinker, Donald Trump, are doing the real damage to the psyche of this nation. What good is it to look forward to anything and have hope for the future when we are being told how awful everything is? If things are really hopeless, as some would have us believe, then why bother? That is the damage that they do. Hopelessness is a dream killer. Ironically, that is what is being offered to conservatives by the groups mentioned above.

It's not the Koran that has a negative vibe, it's the Donald. That's the real problem, and thankfully, it's not mine.

1. Relax, Raine
Hairpiece ain't gonna be Prez, and, the longer he stays (ahem!) "in," the more damage he does to the GOP.
