The plastic Romney is cracking... |
|
And he'll flame out once again like he did in 2008. The guy can't campaign. He's awful. Everyone likes to chalk up his defeat in 2008 to his Mormonism - but no. He lost because he's duller than a 300 year old blade. The guy can't close a deal to save his life and wilted constantly in the big debates (remember McCain owning his ass - if you're owned by McCain in a debate, you're officially roadkill).
Frankly, he'll be the frontrunner solely because of his name and then, when voters take a look at the substance of a candidate, he'll flop big time.

Which is why I wouldn't mind him getting the nomination |
|
He doesn't have what it takes to be president in any way shape or form, and the American people would not hire him.

Lots of Americans liked him. He was quirky, of course, but he had some charisma. I didn't see it, but lots of Americans did.
Romney? Not so much.

He must have kept it hidden somewhere across the border in Oklahoma.

14. Maybe charisma is the wrong word... |
|
Edited on Mon Apr-25-11 10:17 PM by Drunken Irishman
He certainly wasn't as charismatic as Obama. But we all remember those polls from 2000 where Americans said they'd rather have a beer with Bush than Gore. It was ridiculous, of course, but it did play a role in why the campaign was so close. Bush was good at projecting an image of a tough, confident and average guy who just wanted to do good. It was a bullshit image, of course, but it fooled a lot of people.
He had that strut. He had that personable quality to him that helped in the debates against Gore - who always battled image problems.
Sure, he was dumb as a rock (Romney isn't), but he looked affable.
Romney doesn't look affable and he certainly isn't charismatic. He's boring and worse, he's not personable in the least. He looks like someone who is trying way too hard and against the cool and collected Obama, that will play badly to most the general public.
He's fake. And the people will see it. Bush wasn't fake, though. What you saw is what you got - a dumb fucking cowboy.
But it worked. Romney's image won't.

8. I think Romney pulled out in 2008 |
|
because he understood no Rethug was going to win in 2008. For 2012 he will put his nose in but will again pull out if he thinks the GE wont go his way.
He can afford to play a long game.

There's no passion because he doesn't believe in anything enough to stand by it.

They think Mormans are an evil cult group. Can't imagine them voting for Romney. If he does get the nomination, we need to start rumors questioning how many "First Ladies" there will be.

then some over bishops dabbling in politics, failing to take responsibility, closing churches etc. But it's offensive and rather juvenile when others snicker at the Resurrection or virgin birth.

would like to face him. But Mittens will likely be ripped to shreds in a Republican Primary.
And if he were to win. Conservatives in States like VA and NC simply aren't going to vote for a Mormon. They would rather stay at home

and Stewart pointed out that anyone that uses the term "varmint" and "as it were" in the same sentence has no clue who he's talking to.

29. Romney actually was that guy. |
|
IIRC, Romney made a fortune in the "corporate raider" business, buying companies and stripping them down. When he (rarely) talks about his business experience, it's always light on details.
