18. Who has won what?
They asked to see the BC, it's done. The President is still the President.

The President's done with this issue, if you didn't hear his statement this morning.

22. What they have won is this: They got the President to do as they asked
There's Trump "proud of himself" that it came to this. He got what he wanted, the President to release his long form birth certificate. It's not going to stop there as far as requests for President Obama to prove something else now. Trump has been making accusations about the President's education. Now there will be an outrage over his transcripts!

It's so ridiculous and disgusting that as a nation we have come to this, imo.

3. The media, the pundits and
responsible politicians could have and can stop this. They are the ones that allowed this to be blown out of proportion. Why the hell is CNN doing an investigative piece on this? How many legitimate issues have they bypassed that warranted investigative journalism? They didn't even cover the Wisconsin protests.

Remember the Swift Liars? Remember how some believed that by countering the lies it would make them go away?

These are media driven smears. Subtle distortions created by constantly reporting on the issue in a "he said, she said" way.

It's bullshit, and people need to call it what it is.

23. I think you do have to leave the borders to know how it compares
I've been to a lot of places as a black vistor/business traveler (not even trying to move their and "take their jobs"). Eastern Europe, with Russia leading the way is a racist cesspool and I don't even know why because I damn sure don't want to stay in your countries, I'm actually trying to return home quickly. They thought I was aboriginal in Australia, don't even need to expound on that one. England is all right, but i wouldn't trade black in America for black in England. France is a curious case, they certainly know how to keep their minorities on the margins of society. I would take one thing from France, never abandon your cities, make the suburbs the place for the housing projects, etc. Germany was a good time, but I've never been Turkish in Germany and I wasn't an African immigrant. South Koreans ... don't have time for them. The Japanese aren't so bad because they know you'll be leaving soon, don't know how the would react to living next to me though. China just wants to do business, but once they overcome the expectation of doing so with a white man they are all right. Easiest way to scam a Chinese is to pose as a white businessman, they have a picture in their mind of the qualities one should have. Asia as a whole has some racist ass commercials, you just laugh in shock.

26. I've never had any interest in Asia (waaay too many people),
I LOVE France and Italy, as well, and go every chance I get. The cost of living in England is much like N.Y. or L.A. but I do like to visit (wouldn't wanna live there). I also LOVE the Netherlands. Brussels, Belgium and of course, my favorite, Amsterdam. The suburbs I've seen in France are FABULOUS and the villas are magnificent. I've NEVER had a problem with the indigenous population but did run into a problem with Africans (irony at its best). Germany, Luxembourg, etc. GREAT! The streets of Luxembourg remind me of N.Y.

28. being a tourist and a resident are two distinct things
The attitudes towards you aren't the same. Italians aren't exactly known for their accepting of the other. The suburbs I was talking about are Parisian suburbs, it's where the housing developments are and where the poor folks live. When the riots kicked off a few years ago it was in the suburbs. All those black faces you see in the starting lineup when Les Bleus is playing, the suburbs is where they are from.

I watch football (and even traveled with Arsenal on their European adventures) and the kind of shit you see in stadiums in Spain and Italy (and we don't even have to touch Eastern Europe yet) would not be tolerated in America ... banana throwing, monkey noises. shit in Italy they made one black player cry because of the racist abuse. Can you imagine something like a Kick it Out campaign in American sports in this day and age? It's a big racist world out there. And as another poster mentioned, the Middle East ... enough said.

29. I didn't imply that it doesn't exist. By comparison from what
I've witnessed, I'd take Europe any day. Tourist or no, I've never witnessed such kindness as what I've experienced in Italy or France. It's all in ones perspective and from where I sit, this country is STILL the most racist place on earth. The Netherlands is one of the most progressive places and always has been! Culturally, they've always been light years ahead of most other nations.

This is your saintly Europe when they feel threatened by your presence.

And this is your progressive Netherlands ... hey it's Sinterklaas and his slaves. This is some evolved cultural shit.

You can turn a blind eye all you want, but America is far from the most racist country.

looked like part of a comedy skit like SNL! I know too many people all across the cultural spectrum who visit there ANNUALLY (Black, Gay, Little people, White, Native American)and they have NEVER HAD A PROBLEM!!

As for soccer, that is NOTHING NEW but if you want to perpetuate the myth that BLACK PEOPLE ARE HATED ALL OVER THE WORLD, then you go right ahead but many of us no better.

Try again without the hyperbole. And before you do, you may want to check out the feelings and behavior towareds blacks who live in middle eastern countries.

34. quibble: i don't know if this is the most RACIST country on earth
it is the most DIVERSE country on earth, and predjudice and xenophobia is part and parcel of all diverse nations. SA and Rhodesia WERE as, if not more, racist than the US. other nations have nowhere near the number of minority groups, and when they DO have new immigrants or 'guest workers', they are often treated worse than they are here.

we're FAR from perfect, but we're getting better, generation by generation.

is eligble for President which while we think was proved before the election, there are those who don't. The President's remarks weren't for the asshole birthers who will never vote for him anyway. It was for the press and donny (carnival barker made me laugh out loud). Any further requests for documents should be met with "go fuck yourself".
