These people told him to show his papers and he showed them the papers instead of telling them to fuck off. WHy?

2. It moved beyond the back rooms of the internet
and the conspiracy theorists. It was being discussed more openly, and omnipresent as discussion in the media, even if laughed at. The poll numbers on those that pay minimal attention was garnering traction in my opinion - in a negative way. It was time to put it back to the back room of the internet. I am glad he did it.

4. Because whether you like it or not, Trump had mainstreamed the story and people who had never heard
of it before now were speculating about it. It was politically hurting the President.

6. At first I felt the same way. However, in watching the presser, I thought that doing this gave
the president a chance to give a "lecture" (much needed) on what's important to adults here. He did it in a nice, but firm, way. And that was fine with me!

7. Perhaps because he's a public figure seeking their approval.
After all, there is an election, and the President is the President of the United States of America, not the President of the United States of American under Democratic Party Occupation.

Don't answer a fool according to his folly.

Answer a fool according to his folly.

Both are true. Knowing when to apply one and not the other requires wisdom and insight. We'll see if Obama got it right (after all, it's an empirical question.)
