"A proxy for white supremacy"
Rachel described the birther movement tonight as a proxy for the white supremacists
movement, in a world where it is no longer acceptable to overtly be a white supremacist. I thought that was the best description I have heard thus far about this whole thing.

2. The white supremacist sites all have Tea Party forums
I cannot post an example here because It would get deleted by the mods, but all you have to do is google, 'stormfront,' and look at their forums if you can stand to do so. Read some of their tea party forum sometime. The white supremacists just gush over Glenn Beck.
