On Obama ordering the action on Osama and Republican reaction |
|
Edited on Mon May-02-11 08:20 AM by Wickerman
I've seen the meme developing that Obama didn't do crap, just signed the paperwork*.
Bullshit.
He took on the weight and responsibility of the job. His name was on the dotted line. What if the project had failed and U.S. soldiers, Seals, what have you, died? What if the intelligence was wrong and it were a family of peacefuls?
They (the scum-sucking Republican tools) would have been all over him; worse than Jimmy Carter with the failed hostage rescue. How fucking dare them turn this into their rank sports team politic.
*And that isn't to say that his role was limited to the sign-off.

1. Jimmy Carter went thru the same motions as Obama with Operation Eagle Claw... |
|
...and its failure was hung around President Carter's neck like an albatross.

The Republicans politicized that failure no end. It was one reason Reagan was elected.

3. GOPers don't give a damn about being consistent. If this had happened under Reagan or GWB, |
|
they would be acting as if the President had personally jumped out of a helicopter and shot Bin Laden themselves.
They really don't care how ridiculous they appear in their hate and resentment.

They don't want Obama to blame Bush for the economy, job rate decline, etc...but want him to give Bush a shout out regarding the death of Osama Bin Laden.
The fact that Obama called Bush before making the announcement, to give him a heads up...shows incredible grace and dignity.

Put on a uniform, ridden on the copter and pulled the trigger personally? When he's not trained like the Navy Seals who carried out the operation?

7. I watched Peggy Noonan... |
|
for a few minutes today on Morning Joe...that self-serving bitch was saying that there had to be complete transparency about this mission...everything had to be declassified, or no one would believe it. She sure as hell didn't hold W's feet to the fire over the lies that took us into Iraq and killed so many of our military and so many civilians. These despicable apologists for W, make me furious.
How dare them act as if W had anything to do with this operation and with Obama's courage to order it.
