Any chance President released birth certificate because he knew what was about to go down?

If the birther madness had continued in full force, it would have churned and churned into even more of a froth by the weekend - imagine the distraction.

By releasing it when he did, he released a safety valve and let some of the steam out of it. By the end of the week, it was little more than a joke.

Releasing it when he did also preemptively knocked the air out of any "wag the dog" accusations that surely would have been hurled if the birth certificate issue was still front and center.

So, was this just fortuitous timing or was our chessplayer-in-chief - once again - several moves ahead of everyone else?
