FAUX News is making me even sicker than usual today. They have every anti-Obama 9/11 family on they
can.
They had a widow on about a half hour ago, and now Todd Beemer's father is on trashing Obama saying he should not get any credit. He didn't do anything special. And they keep promising to have Debra Burlinghame their favorit rabid anti-Obama 9/11 family member on to trash Pres. Obama after she meets with him.

Watching them today you get the impression that ALL 9/11 families hate Pres. Obama and are just seething with anger over his "photo op".

7. They love Bush and his pro-America (pro torture) and Obama is weak for the KSM trial and he endorsed
the mosque, etc.

These are the same people Faux News has used for the last 3 years since before the election to trash Obama.
Watching, you really do get the impression that all 9/11 families hate Obama. They NEVER EVER EVER have a family on that supports Obama in the slightest.

18. Bush&Co tried to get into everyone's heads that we were at risk 24/7 and that
Edited on Thu May-05-11 02:49 PM by DeschutesRiver
there was only one way to be safe, and it was their way. People who suffered from this tragedy most directly, ie those who lost loved ones, were probably most susceptible to this.

Fast forward to today, and the Bush myths are revealed to be just that - we are still as safe, more or less, as before. It didn't take a Republican to get OBL, nor were they the only ones who could protect our nation. With the death of OBL, that is now a fact set in stone. This event may change the course of our political history for decades to come, not only as far as who we elect/consider electable, but also how we choose to defend ourselves in the future. And if irrational fear generated by a gov. that is in the pocket of business/the military industrial complex no longer persuades the masses, then republicans are irrelevant. Because generating fear at a basic survival level is their sole means of governing.

Those who lost loved ones and were the easiest to brainwash are going to fight hard to keep their view of reality intact, which means continuing to deny that their and Bush's position was the only correct course. No one likes to be proven wrong, and people who suffered like this probably don't want to believe that they were taken for a ride by their own government while they were at their most vulnerable moment.

10. When the Fox crew shows up, these people are drawn like moths.
I can't imagine Obama haters seeking out any other venue for face time. I doubt Fox had to look very far for an interview.

Regardless, I understand their loss, just not their partisan opinion.

Edited on Thu May-05-11 02:04 PM by S_E_Fudd
Nothing they can say or do will convince the vast majority of people that President Obama isn't the one that finally got bin Laden...

And the fact that they use the memory of their loved ones to lie and obfuscate is even more pathetic...

Like an earlier poster said...I hope someday they find peace....because right now they are attracting more pity than support...

Better ignored, for their relevance is zero. I deeply sympathise with their losses but that does not give anyone a free pass for downright tasteless behaviour.

16. There's no reason to expect any different from Fox. They're a RW propaganda network.
They're there to create an echo chamber for the sheeple who believe the crap they put out as "news".

It must be very confusing for some of them to surface to the real world after watching FNC.

22. Misplaced, projected anger.
It's too painful to break through that wall. What is on the other side of that wall is too painful to face for many people. More and more, I am coming to the conclusion that some people can handle the truth, and some can't. They just can't.

23. Sad but being ultra conservatives will tend to do that do you.
Hatred in your heart means it will never heal. I have a friend who nearly lost her sister on 9/11 (at the Pentagon). I get that that day was horrific for these families. But the man who is largely responsible for getting Bin Laden was a Democrat. These people need to get over it and get some closure in their lives.

24. I saw one of these people the other day, a 9/11 widow, on Fox. She seemed actually ANGRY with Obama.
For what, I have no idea. She was angry over the fact that they buried Bin Laden at sea, but neither she nor Cavuto (who was hosting her) said what they thought should be done instead, drag his body through the street or put his head on a pike at the White House?

She's angry at Obama, who nailed Bin Laden, but has positive feelings for Bush, who failed to do it in two terms?

These people are really beyond my understanding.

26. typical Rovian attempt at narrative setting
and the classic technique at trying to turn your opponent's greatest strength into a weakness.

they did it with Kerry. A war hero became a fraudulent traitor to his country who didn't earn his medals.

they can't attack Obama for taking out the single biggest target in the war on terror. so instead, they turn the victory into a false story of Obama-exploiting-it-and-using-the 9/11-families. Even got sources close to Dubya to leak that 'victory lap' line. (Notice Bush has yet to deny it.)

This is all coming from the Bush people - the ones who moved the 2004 RNC convention into September to take advantage of the 9/11 anniversary. The ones who ran campaign ads with Sept. 11 footage and morphed a war hero like Max Cleland into Bin Laden.

27. I hate to be brutal but....
I say the right and the right wing media is at its weakest point since 9/11 right now. Killing Bin Laden just killed their whole agenda. Our boot is on their neck...its time to snap it. Although i have alot of questions about 9/11 ( somewhat of a truther ) i think its a good idea to lump them all in with Truthers, Birthers, Teabaggers....If you call a show or discuss the issue with them and they bring up the " no photo issue" just tell them they sound like a 9/11 truther. That will throw them for a loop.

Its all a mind game. We shouldn't just sit back in awe of their behavior...take advantage of it. If you have time, call radio shows , use social networking, use every form of media you can to point out their total hypocrisy.

And although im not a big military guy, what the right wing media is doing is just SHAMEFUL to our troops. Making a mockery of the death of Bin Laden is degrading their " victory " or completion of their mission( however symbolic it is )....we need to make this known.

Right wing media degrading success of our military and special forces because of their hatred for Barak Obama.

They dont care about victory unless its theirs. Shame ! Shame ! Shame !
