GOP/Right-Wing Apoplectic About Obama Laying A Wreath At Ground Zero
Edited on Thu May-05-11 01:19 PM by rhombus
Say what?

"GOP has been exploiting 9/11 for political gain for 10 years. Obama puts down a wreath & he's "doing a victory lap."

They have no shame. :patriot::fistbump:

1. How DARE an Anti-American secret Muslim try to take credit for killing bin Laden
just because he got bin Laden killed!?! That's what they're thinking except for the last part.

2. It's like they think they trade marked 9-11
and Obama is making unauthorized use of their marketing.

I HATE how the GOP has politicized 9-11, all the while dismissing and belittling the actual people involved (i.e. by attempting to deny benefits to first responders or by continuing to demonize New Yorkers as "less American" than others).

his real sin is SUCCEEDING. That's what they really can't abide.

6. What I find hysterically funny is that if he DIDN'T participate in a
ceremony such as this, they would be screeching at about 90 decibels about what a horrible person he was.

7. Exactly
If he didn't do it, they would be screaching "He shoulda put a wreath down!" It doesn't matter what Obama does, the wingnuts will never be satisified.

9. Don't forget, these are the same idiots who were apoplectic that this
president had the gall to publicly address the nation's schoolchildren (as other recent presidents, who happened to be white have done), to exhort them to stay in school and study hard. I remember seeing one video of a RW mother literally breaking down in sobs over the idea that this dangerous man was going to be speaking to children. OMG!!! Won't somebody think of the children!

They would have been apoplectic whether he had, or had not, laid a wreath at Ground Zero.

13. I recall when Palin was giving some talk and CNN had feedback groups
who would be listening and they would be interviewing. (Obama was already president and I don't recall why or where palin was talking or why they covered it that way. I did not watch that)
Anyway as they were introducing the feedback groups they had half republicans and half Independents. They said they didn't bother having Democrats represented because everyone knew what their opinion would be on anything Palin did. ???

Oh My. I imagined if all the panels who talked about Obama were decided in that way. "We have Democrats and Independents to discuss Obama. Why bother with republicans, we know their opinion of anything he does"

Because we generally do. There are a few exception on a few things like this.
But generally all they ever have to say after showing an Obama event/statement or policy is "republicans are all against this of course"

I am reading in various places how ugly that Obama is doing this with an election coming.
He should wait a year and a half to do this? It couldn't be a much moire low key event... but he made these victims families and friends the star of his speech (besides the team that got osama) in his announcement... the empty seats they lived with every day and so on. This seems good and natural that he'd reach out to them...

I am sick of their nasty slime. Really. They need a mute button that can control them. Yes we have one for our tv but I want one that can shut them up when they are lying in congress or wherever. The thought amuses me. I wish angels did things like that, I'd be a believer

23. The best part is that when it was first announced that he'd asked Bush to attend...
the right-wingers went nuts saying Obama "needed" Bush there as a shield, because he was going to get booed and people were going to protest him.

yeah, these guys have always been above the partisan fray when it comes to the war on terror.

they would never try to use something like this for political purposes:
