The documents reveal that the Al Qaeda leader was still plotting attacks against the U.S. and wanted to find a way to kill Obama. Bin Laden's own writings indicate that he had urged followers to assassinate Obama as a way of disrupting the 2012 presidential election. Former intelligence officials said that Bin Laden was focussed on killing the President. 'I would say this is probably very personal on Bin Laden's part, to kill that he believes has violated the Muslim faith,' Brad Garrett, a former FBI profiler, told ABC News.

4. I don't see it as an issue. I'd assumed Al Qaida had a "kill whoever is US President" policy anyway. |

8. Come on. You know good and well they would take any shot they could get at the leader of America... |
|
...regardless of whoever it is or what party they belong to. Just because the Bush administration and the Republicans used the reality of terrorist organizations as a way to scare people into allowing massive power grabs doesn't change the fact that these people actually do exist and they actually do want to strike at America and other Westernized countries. We shouldn't let Bush derangement syndrome blind us to facts.

21. Doesn't someone amongst them HAVE TO SHOW who is the boss of the USA? |
|
Remember, especially with the Derivative Crash of 2008, this IS about currency markets.

26. I honestly don't think so. Bush played into OBL's hands, and reacted very much |
|
how he wanted the U.S. to react...by going overboard, inciting violence, killing too many non-terrorists so that could be used as a recruiting tool.
Evidence: OBL's video shortly before the election Bush v. Kerry, knowing full well the American reaction to terrorists & OBL is to go to the right, perceived stronger in National Security.
Killing the U.S. President: Killing just ANY U.S. President only serves to act as recruitment tool and show your strength, IMO. That is because in our government system, the leader has a substitute if he is killed, and the leader #2 has a substitute, and so on and so forth. But killing a SPECIFIC U.S. President is personal, IMO. OBL would know the VP would take over, and the country would go on.
So I totally believe that OBL perceived Obama as a personal threat to OBL's cause. And maybe he was right...witness the wave of revolutions across the Middle East, and the rejection of jihadi, recently.
Whether Obama caused that or not, it's clear that his Presidency has ushered in a major change in the Middle East. Yeah, I can imagine that OBL wanted Obama taken out, personally.

27. OBL didn't release a video before the McCain-Obama election, did he? Maybe 'cause McCain doesn't .. |
|
maybe because McCain doesn't torture? And wasn't prone to go overboard in fighting wars that can be used as recruitment tools for the Taliban?
But I forget....was McCain in favor of the Iraq War?

9. Does it really matter? |
|
If these people really want to kill him, do you think they care that everyone else knows about it? I don't. I actually think they're less likely to try it. When you shine a light on the cockroaches, they scurry back into the dark.

11. Brad Garrett believes that this was personal for Bin Laden, |
|
because he believed Pres. Obama had "violated" a faith that he is not part of.... or is Garrett insinuating that Bin Laden believed Barack Obama to be a Muslim? And why would Garrett believe that he knows this bit of news? Or did Garrett simply pull this out of his ass?

14. That's the thing...... |
|
Why would Garrett assign to Bin Laden this kind of an assumption? Was there something that Bin Laden has said in reference to this particular train of thought at some point? Because if not, Garrett should stick to knowns....That if Bin Laden had such plans, that they were based on the best way to disrupt the politics of this country.
