Breaking… Mitch Daniels NOT running for President in 2012 |
|
Mitch Daniels has apparently informed his family and friends he has decided not to seek the White House in 2012 citing privacy concerns. Full story here. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/05/22/mitch-daniels-president-2012_n_865185.html

7. Nope it is privacy. Remember his wife now, was his wife before. |
|
She left him and their kids to go to California and marry some other guy---probably a product of an affair. And then came back to him later on. He runs for President and all that sordid details is gonna be a problem and it will go as far as to that guy she was formerly married too. That will be all over all news papers and nothing will be kept secret. His wife doesn't want that.

5. He was the one the Republicans were hoping |
|
would be the sacrificial lamb...a milquetoast candidate who would do little damage and prevent one of the nut jobs (Newt, Palin) from getting the nomination and spoiling 2016.
Guess that isn't happening!

8. Nope. His wife is his burden. |
|
The moment people were wondering about him. Someone on MSNBC mentioned that his wife left him and their two kids for a period of time to marry someone else. He runs, it's going to be a dirty campaign because his wife's dirty laundry will be all over the press.

I was so hoping that the rest of America would get a chance to see what we Hoosiers have been suffering under, lo these many years....NOT! Thank your lucky stars that Daniels is not running. I will never say another bad thing about Cherie Daniels' wardrobe again.

The only ones left are the Mormon bros.. Huntsman and Mittens.. the rest are loons. What a mess.
I guess no one wants to face King Obama!

14. He was somewhat more reasonable. I guess he can see the writing on the wall. Why put his family |
|
through hell if he can't win, and furthermore why damage his reputation getting through the primaries. Any repub in the primaries has to run to the crazy right.

12. Mitch Daniels has two insuperable problems: wife and budget |
|
The wife problem looks odd to people. I don't care what you say, it's weird to have had the wife leave him and the kids like that, marry another dude, then come back. More pressing is his role as Bush's Director of Management and Budget. If Daniels were to run, the Obama people would be ripping him to shreds day in and day out on the budget surplus inherited by the Bushies, the unconscionable tax cut, and general mismanagement of the Treasury during the Bush years. It would be non-stop: a chart of the Clinton surplus would be etched in everybody's mind after the ad buys, and it would totally disable the only argument the GOP thinks they have left, which is the deficit. The real reason Daniels can't run is because the lie that Obama is responsible for the deficit is embodied in Daniels himself.

15. Actions speak louder than words |
|
I wrote this in another thread, but it is relevant here to.
I think if Daniels thought he could win, he would have gone for it. It has been proven, (Clinton W-Bush) that you can overcome personal difficulties and still win. I believe he saw the same issues most of the other "serious" candidates have seen.
Look at this list.
Barber-OUT (He, himself said the reason was that he could not beat Obama)
Huckabee-OUT
Christie- OUT
Daniels-OUT
Thune-OUT
And I am sure I am leaving a few out
There currently is not ONE ACTIVE GOVERNOR OR SENATOR running for President. That is astounding! Clearly the know something. The metric for this race is locked in place. No, Obama will not win 60% of the vote and carry 45 states. But clearly due to changing demographics, and the GOP's move to the far right, Obama is locked in at about 52% of the vote and at least 270 electoral votes. There is nothing the GOP can do to change that in 2012. And the smart reliable candidates who want to be President and have options, know this, and thus, are waiting for 2016.
