4. Great dress!
Much better than a lot of the stuff she wears - those high-waisted things with full skirts and foofoo little jackets or cardigans that she often wears look kind of frumpy -- but this one is great. So was the white one she wore yesterday.

9. This is a killer gown & Michelle looks grand in it. I liked the white one, too.
I agree that Michelle should stay away from cropped tops & jackets, even though they have been the "in" style for several years now. That cut looks more flattering on petite sizes.

IF i EVER got a wife like that.. I would be proud to se her when she was in her underwear in the morning;).. Dam she looks great.. If US ever was to get a royal familiy, I HOPE the Obama family would end up as King and Queen..

Compared to what you had before (the eight nightmarish years with GWB) this looks competent..

But as some have pointed out.. The right wings in the world, would HATE this pictures... As they do with all things Oobama related..

26. IMHO Michelle Obama always looks good. So does her husband.
The queen, on the other hand, always looks like she's wearing a costume. Always with a purse and gloves. Wonder what she carries in her purse? Lifesavers and carfare? Kleenex?

43. I always wondered that
She ALWAYS carries a purse. What could she possibly have in there that somebody can't carry for her? For me, that would definitely be a perk of being Queen - never having to schlep a purse again.

53. Under the heading of "trivia"...
I remembered reading something about the Queen using her purse as a signal. Here's what I found:

"Enquiring minds want to know: just what does Queen Elizabeth carry in that purse? As it turns out, there is more to the royal purse than its meager contents. It doubles as a signal device. When the Queen is carrying out her royal duties at some function, she uses her purse to communicate with her servants. When she shifts the bag from one arm to another, for instance, it means she’s ready to leave. When at a banquet, if the Queen sets her purse on the floor, it’s another bad sign. She finds the conversation boring and wants to escape. However, if the royal bag dangles happily from the crook of her left arm, she is happy and relaxed. (2)

"One thing that can always be found inside the Queen’s purse is an S-shaped metal meat hook that she can place on the edge of a piece of furniture and hang her purse on it. She always carries a metal make-up case given to her by Prince Philip as a wedding gift. She carries a collection of good luck charms, most of them gifts from her children, including dogs, horses, saddles, and horsewhips, reports the Daily Express, and photos of her children. She is never without her mints, chocolate drops for her corgi dogs, and a crossword or two snipped from the papers by her attendants.

"Majesty magazine reports that the Queen carries a comb, a handkerchief, a small gold compact and a tube of lipstick in her handbag. On Sundays, she carries paper money to place in the collection plate at church."

http://lisawallerrogers.wordpress.com/2009/03/17/whats-in-the-queens-purse/

So at dinner, the Queen's Purse met the King's Speech. ;-)

Very flattering. This one actually gives her a waistline, while so many of the others seem to want to try to hide it.

If she's gonig to wear long formal for something, this is the sort of dress it should be. It works perfectly on her.

73. I think she has a high waist line.
She is tall and I think her waist tends to look disproportionately high. I think that is the reason her waist is not accented. She has other features that can be beautifully highlighted.

62. I don't like either of them.
A gorgeous, clean-line dress like that needs jewelry that is simple and clean-lined jewelery, too. Your garbage disposal analogy is perfect for that necklace. And, it does absolutely nothing for those well-toned shoulders of hers. Michelle, if you got it, flaunt it. Don't hide it under a big, gaudy mess like that one.

As for the bracelet, meh.
