Then there was Congressman Weiner Who claims he never had seen her. He questioned his parts, Inventoried his larks, But in the end they roasted his leaner.
I actually liked the guy. Maybe if I knew him, I'd find him overly ambitious, etc., but what I witnessed was a forceful intelligence with a strong moral conscience. I'm afraid that, no matter what, he will lose the moral thrust of his argument for greater attention to the inequities in the U.S.
But then, just like a joke's a joke, a poem is a poem, and when one comes, I grab. I'd like to think Weiner has a good sense of humor, and judging by what I've seen of him, he does. If so, he might like the joke/piece. At least I hope he would.

We have us a Justice named Clarence Who doesn't deserve much forbearance. In arguments oral He's often immoral And tends to embarrass his parents.

5. Here's my stab at it. ;-) |

There once was a Justice named Clarence Whose wife had a nice job and bank balance. In reporting his family income for years on sworn government reports the outcome was to omit that wife's employment, a crime landing him in federal Prison in Florence.
 :hide:

Here's mine (not so good):
Pitting case against case, the Justices strode To measure the width and the weight of the code, But as they were thinking something went off, Breaking the silence with a syurpy pop, And Clarence thanked God once more for the robes.
