6. Does there need to be context with that statement?
Edited on Thu Jun-16-11 02:34 PM by William769
I just felt it needed to be said. After all I do feel it is our responsibility as U.S. citizens.

ON EDIT: I know of at least 3 un rec on this topic. Now how on earth would that statement offend anyone?

This kind of topic makes me feel sorry I clicked. It's immature, to say the least. *rolling eyes*

9. I don't question the statement
but still stand irritated that you feel that you are some sort of spokesperson for a cause that isn't really in question.

Shouting from the roof tops? Good lord....it almost sounds like unnecessary paranoia is setting in.

12. This forum : GD-Pres
I didnt see my posts as sycophantic. That is an adjective I don't think I've ever had applied to me. Curious.

But never mind. You take umbrage at the OPs statement, or affirmation, above.

Look at the subjects here, in this forum: Weiner, Weiner, Media, Congress, Weiner, Newt , Bachman, Weiner...........

Apparently off-topic posts are okay here. So whats the big deal. Why be needlessly rigid? Thats okay.

The OP makes a very simple statement about President and Citizen , 2 apparent guardians of the forum come unstarched.
The message was in keeping with the theme of the forum, so I take it the messenger was a problem for you.

Whats up with that?

14. Apparently I ruffled some feathers.
If you ask me thats a good thing.

I did not use this thread to belittle any politician (which would not have been hard to do). I made a statement that all should follow. Some took it as a threat (thats their problem). I have stayed out of this forum for awhile now which was a mistake. I will hold all public office holders upto and including the President feet to the fire If I think they are doing wrong.

20. A request:
If this thread is allowed to remain, I'd like to ask, in the spirit of the intent of Skinner's unrestricted thread in GD, that you leave or express your hostility and anger toward fellow DUers over there.

You and a couple of posters on this thread indulged in freely insulting DUers over there when the rules were lifted. And this thread is, to me, a pretty transparent attempt to try to "poke the bear" and provoke reaction, especially by feigning fear of other DUers.

I have no plans to add more to the GD thread; you're free to go back there and tell everyone how "scary" it is on GD: P if that's the atmosphere you feel you need to create. But as we've been asked not to deconstruct that thread elsewhere, conversely the spillover shouldn't sneak on to these threads.

26. And yet here you are bringing that thread up and deconstructing
it like mad. You are presuming to speak to the motives of your fellow DUers, and you are not saying a word about your own opinion about the OP, just about the person who posted it.
Tell me, since you are coloring your posts with suggestions of authority, on what basis would the statement in the OP be locked? Why are you suggesting that it is 'allowed to remain open'? State your case. About the post, not the poster, please.

27. If you think post #28 is conducive to productive discussion,
then there's not much to say.

I won't take the bait of engaging in a provocation so that people can then claim that they were picked on or attacked. And that includes saying anything further about your accusations. If you want to go back to the GD thread and have a complaint session about what I've said, I don't plan to follow you over there, so knock yourself out.

I've said my piece over there, so I'm done.

That is not a unreasonable request.

But it is the one request you refuse to answer.

P.S. if you can show me what rule I violated who I'm calling out, What Democrat I have defaced, I will gladly ask the mods to delete this thread. Is that to much to ask?

We praise our leaders when they do good, and when they don't do good they should be held accountable also.

25. As Teddy Roosevelt said
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we should stand by the President, right or wrong is not only servile and unpatriotic, but also morally treasonable to the American public."
So Teddy and I both agree with you.

32. That does not make every criticism automatically valid and rational
It doesn't support the idea of making something up in order to have something to criticize.
