I think the Senate health insurance bill will pass, despite the rage and
opposition from both extremes and the propaganda from the GOP. I expect it's effects will be pretty neutral, maybe give more money to insurers, doctors and pharma, possibly be of slight benefit to the people who really needed it. It may have been the best we could get in the US at this time, but it is a lame, poor little thing, and it will wreck the Democratic majority in the Senate and possibly lose the White House to the GOP-again.

The entire process was badly done from the beginning, with the wrong people in charge and no real interest in the needs of the American people...Hell, there was money to be made. I believe those really in charge got what they wanted out of this bill, but some of the crumbs to the peasants may be an improvement over the existing non-system.

Obama, I hope you enjoyed yourself.

1. Of course it will pass
Since when has Congress done anything the American people have wanted? It's like reverse psychology.

6. Sadly, I suspect you are right.
Obama is doing a marvelous job of controlling Congress and this legislation from top to bottom.

The results, in this case, stink, but I am not one of those who say Obama is not leading. He is leading. He's just not leading in the direction I prefer.

7. I think you are right. A lot of people here said he was "playing chess"
with the issue, and it's becoming clear that he certainly is.

The insurers and their allies are going to get huge profits out of this.

And I believe he may continue to gain support from the center and even the moderate republicans...he is one of their own, actually.

President Obama and the Right-Wing Duopoly (Democrats & Republicans) are putting on the show to serve The Center Ring (Greedy Insurance and Big Pharma Corporations).

The Goal: Middle-Class tax dollars CONTINUE to be siphoned off to Big-Business as our Nation moves ever closer to FASCISM .... complements of our Neo-Lib Government Circus.

12. At a cost of 1.5 million $$ per day to Insurance Companies to craft the current *reform* package,
you can bet it will pass. They need to get this behind them so that they can begin the process of recouping their exorbitant graft payments from their customers, both old AND new.
