Primarying Obama
Who are the leading candidates?

They need to be popular within the democratic party, good name recognition, a real democrat, able to raise the money etc.

Can anyone suggest some promising candidates?

1. Al Gore
But since Gore endorsed Obama last time early, it might be difficult.

11. Did you vote for Gore or Nader? And you do realize Gore is to Obama's right?
Just as Dean is? It would be so nice if idealists would at least get their facts right before backing candidates.

13. Gore has a spine.
and isn't to the right of Obama. That's 2 points in his favor right there.

Obama is to the right of Nixon, and slightly to the left of GWB.

The second is: I don't believe the DNC wants to primary him.

As a member of the Democratic party, I know I don't.

Edited on Fri Jul-22-11 03:14 PM by Drale
even though people may be pissed at him if the Repukes were allowed to have a president at this time it would be 10000000% worst. They would not just cut Social Security, they would completely dismantle it. At this point we will just have to make sure we can win both the House and the Senate back so there is no temptation to do anything bad.

EDIT: for spelling, still getting used to typing on my new laptop.

The blank slate of 2008 is no more and now Obama has a record that people can go after.

Regardless, Hillary will not do a Ted Kennedy. It is not her style, she knows how it would divide the party.

Alas, we are stuck with Obama for the duration.
