You know what?
This idea that we need super-majorities and a liberal press and strong labor movements and mass protests and total party unity and nice weather before the most powerful person on the planet can say what he wants to say about policy is just really wearing me out.

2. which is weird if he's also, in their estimation, a "great leader." Do great-leaders constantly
...self-censor, out of fear they might be... disagreed with? Or are "too visionary?," etc.?

3. Rec'd for being just so perfectly stated
I can feel your being worn out. You certainly have a right to feel this way. I've thrown my hands in the air so many times lately.

5. Unrec'd because you never air political strategy in public.
Oh, and by the way, Congress is on *PAID* vacation through Labor Day.

Why aren't DUers outraged by this? Oh yeah, that's right. It's ODS for some of them.

Hold Congress accountable for failing to do it's job!!

6. I know......if only it was simply about Obama saying what he wants to say about policy!
Edited on Mon Aug-08-11 08:23 PM by FrenchieCat
Talking is one thing....
but in a democracy,
it takes more than one to actually get things done...
if that wasn't the case, we'd call him dictator and just
call it a day.

Funny thing is that you already know this,
I'd have to imagine.

What I have noticed is that it is the exact same posters that have been saying the same
negative things about Pres. Obama for years now, and who continue to line up for the
infamous one-liners in purposefully depressing threads, that puts this President
and his supporters down, and not much else....and they are the same ones that have
been doing this for over a couple of years.

7. The OP was NOT about any policy position of Obama's. It was about
--his fucking REPUKE messaging! That the deficit is more important than jobs is pure Tea Party. That no one in particular is to blame for the deficit is the Republican line. That the government just can't do anything to create jobs except "cut red tape," outsource more jobs and lower taxes is pure Grover Norquist.

His possiblie courses of action are certainly constrained by Republicans, but why in goddam hell does this mean that every time he opens his mouth he has to say that the Democrats are wrong and Republicans are right?

8. Actually, I've noticed that the posters who've been pointing out issues with Obama's policies
for years have been proven right.
