7. He actually told people to stay home in 2010?
I don't watch news on cable TV except for some you tube clips I see on DU. Do you have a link to this?

Now this link is obviously right wingers----however HE did say this. Shultz is known for giving Repubs tons of ammunition and then running around calling people hypocrites when he's not far from the same. He could say what he wants, when he wants, but he said don't vote for the Dems and basically don't vote in 2010. He called for a boycott: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUJii0bZqhE&feature=player_embedded

Anyone who calls for people not to vote. Especially not vote for Dems---while knowing Repubs always vote Repub---ultimately are not teaching anyone a fuckin' lesson; but advocating and enabling the destruction of America by Republicans. They are willing to allow Republicans control for some lesson. Ultimately, their Repub shills.

I don't know anyone holds Shultz as some liberal or progressive. He's a complete fool.

16. Thanks,
Although I can't watch that video right now because the firewall at my office prevents us from watching streaming video. :(

But Ed is an ass if he did this.

2. We won two seats in republican districts, and were able to get a recall election. What does that
mean? It means walker should not feel too comfortable

5. Are you from Wisconsin? I am. These wins are a big deal and Wisconsin has every reason to be

proud of the huge effort in the face of Citizens United. These wins were in Republican districts. Walker has no reason to feel confident.

8. I am actually a "we" from Wisconsin and I am proud of what we accomplished.
We defeated 2 of the 6 Republican incumbents. Living in La Crosse where we succeeded in electing Jennifer Shilling I am one of those "we" here who cast our votes to make a difference in these historic recall elections.

Republicans may paint this as a Democratic "loss", but they can in no way be happy about this and they know that Democrats are organized in this state and are determined to recall Walker next year.

The war is not over yet.

9. Congratulations! "We" know what a victory this is.
Edited on Wed Aug-10-11 11:39 AM by myrna minx
I was in Janesville last weekend and the TV market was overwhelmed with attack ads aimed for Baraboo and Portage. In the face of all of that money spent, I'm in awe of what was accomplished. It's just the beginning. "Scotty we're coming for you!"

Again, congratulations on your victory. :woohoo:
(I'm so saddened that we didn't get Darling, though!)

14. This has nothing to do with the wins TWO wins you do have. It's to do with the 3 Ed claims.
Edited on Wed Aug-10-11 12:06 PM by vaberella
Although I got a problem normally with this poster...Let's run on what we know versus the supposition that there's a third. That's all the OP is saying. But s/he's not trying to take the win away from Wisconsin citizens/voters, or the Dems or the nation.

18. I'm Still PROUD Of WI & ALL That Was Done! I Wish It Could Have Turned Out
better, but living down here where we will NEVER see activism that comes close to what you have done, I applaud you.

Actually, activism here is DEAD when it comes to ridding this state of the GARBAGE that some call governing. It's pretty much a dictatorship and even the Democratic Party here leans right and is LAME!

I would have LOVED to been up there and been a part of what you did. And I wish we would see movement like that in so many other states where we are feeling totally screwed and don't now where to turn. Believe me, I've tried to get people together around here and it's like spitting in the wind. Twenty people would be GOOD and just saying that kind of SUCKS!

Still, I wonder if all of the elections up there were on the up and up. Sorry, my cynicism stays ever vigilant.

19. I should say that I grew up in Wisconsin and still visit family there.
Edited on Wed Aug-10-11 01:31 PM by myrna minx
In fact I was near Madison this last weekend and saw the onslaught of hateful ads that ran constantly - so it's amazing what the FIghting Wisconsinites won in spite of the rivers of cash.

I cannot take any credit for the victory there, but I know the people and the districts and wanted to point out what a true victory this was for the Dems, even if we didn't regain control of the Senate. :hi:

Wisconsin did us proud. :hi:

6. I will be honest with you Darryl what the problem with Ed is.. that MSNBC was blowing
smoke up his skirts.. including Rachael, who I think is the BEST thing ever on TV. But they were making comments that it was ED who got all this stuff in Wisconsin done.. it was the Democrats on the ground and all those union people came together.

The fact that he cannot see that 1/3 yes 1/3 or those republicans got recalled.. in areas where they should have ran away with it (the republicans) is I don't know.. beyond silly

11. Can anyone tell me how much we spent in Wisconsin...
...on these recalls?

I notice Ed and his guests are endlessly talking about how much the baggers spent, but how much did the Democrats/progressive groups/unions/left leaning outside interest groups spend? I thought I'd read unions alone spent at least 10 million dollars.

Ed is acting like only the Republicans spent money. I'd buy the billionaires of the regressive rightwing spent more, but to make it sound like we were unarmed is a lot of nonsense. Are we even really sure the baggers outspent us?

So how much did the 2 sides spend exactly? Anyone have an legit, honest numbers?

17. I'm a we from WI too
and I am glad we got two in the republican districts but we have two more to go and one of those is my district. I am very nervous about this and scared. My stomach has been rolling since yesterday and while I am glad for the two I am still very disappointed that it couldn't have been three.

I feel so sorry for those that stood in the freezing cold and protested and pounded the pavement, made calls and everything else they could do.

Guess I'm mostly disappointed that stupidity wins out just about every time.
