What the fuck is up with Ed Schultz defending crazy eyes Bachmann
Edited on Fri Aug-12-11 11:38 AM by bigdarryl
He defended her earlier in the week on MSNBC and defended her last night talking about she was excellent in the debate. Now on radio he is defending her against Pawlenty You have Ed who is supposed to be a progressive defending her and yet Joe Scarborough went after her for saying she wouldn't have raise the sealing he called her a joke as a candidate.I only wish Ed would have defended Anthony Weiner.

1. Ed Is Smart To Bolster Bachman
She presumably would be Obama's easiest general election opponent. But I don't think the Pubs are are crazy enough to nominate her.

2. Oh, come on. Were you watching TV in some alternate universe?
He wasn't defending her; he was rating her debate performance compared to Pawlenty's. And I agree with Ed, she was much better in the debate than Pawlenty, who sucked even more than usual. If you would actually pay attention to context rather than flying off the handle every damn time, you might notice that Ed finds Bachmann insane and despicable, just like the rest of us.

3. Not to worry...
He defended her in the trivial matter of the magazine cover...But promptly blasted here with both guns.

And there's nothing wrong (IMO) in objectively acknowledging the strength of opponents. That's a step towards figuring out how to counter them.

4. IMHO, Pawlenty Or Romney Would Be Formidable General Election Candidates
I think Obama would be a huge favorite against the rest of the field but only a fool underestimates his opponents.

I would add we need to see how the economy is next Spring and Summer before making predictions.

6. I agree with Ed. The mag cover was horrible. A new low for the media.
I guess it made Newsweek 'relevant' for a microsecond, though - so the objective of the photo was achieved.

10. They did the same
thing with Palin. Even though I don't like her - I ended up disliking Newsweek even more.

9. He's always defending her because he wants her to be the nominee.
She'd be easiest to beat in his eyes.

I wouldn't go that far. I'm with Bill Maher who think this country is so "fucking dumb ass" that anything is possible.

George Bush was allowed to serve for 8 years. But no one can give Obama 4. We started bitching about him as soon as he got into office.
